Agreed that Brett Richie is either undertrained irresponsible, or a toxic mix of both. Our first interaction occurred after an extremely trying year which included the birth of my first child, the death of my mother and 2 cross country moves. It was also a time where I had been able to maintain almost a year of continued sobriety. I was under a tremendous amount of stress, grief and sadness. When I told him in our second counseling that I wanted to drink and was adamant that I was going to do so; his response was ok, go on, do it. In a nutshell, PISS OR GET OFF THE POT. I highly recommend Sammie Jones and Houston Psychotherapists. For anyone having mental health problems, difficulty with interpersonal relationships or wanting to improve their overall quality of life, you would be in good hands with these professionals. The offices are warm and inviting, and the staff is helpful, compassionate and professional. Sammie Jones is an excellent psychotherapist and has the right combination of a tender heart and fierce ability to help you confront and transform things that are difficult to change!

Don’t go see Brett Richie. I told him in our first appointment. I sometimes wish I could stay in bed on my anxiety drugs. On my second appointment he TOLD me I didn’t complete my homework by showing for the appointment. I had just had a panic attack and reached by leaving and telling him I might go kill myself and he let me walk out the door. This man does not need to see patients.
