Miss Colleen's Elite Dancentre is the Top Rated Local(R) dance academy in Rockville Centre, with dance classes for kids and teens of all ages. We offer dance classes in all levels of ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, hip hop, and tap, as well as musical theatre. If you are looking for a safe and nurturing environment for your child to learn how to dance, we're the dance studio for you!
A 45-minute dance class for 2-year-olds that introduces ballet basics and creative movement. Ballet slippers are the only dance shoes allowed in this toddler ballet class. A 60-minute dance class for 3-5 year olds that teaches children the basics of ballet and tap dance. Ballet or tap will be chosen by your dance instructor to be performed in the end-of-year dance recital.
Our Competitive Elite Team is the perfect solution for your child. We're committed to excellence in the studio, and we believe (and know) that dance is indeed a sport! The definition of a sport is: "An activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment."

I can't speak more highly about this dance studio. It all started with Miss Colleen's amazing dreams years ago and it's just incredible. Every dancer has a positive story to tell about their experience here. Kindness has always been woven through the fabric that makes up this studio. The owner's keen direction, professionalism and loving ways have made it the success that it is and will always be!!

I would never ever consider recommending this company today after they broke my 3yr old daughter's heart this morning. They had advertised on Facebook a February break beach dance party for 3-5yr olds. It said open to the public and free as well. I clicked "going" on the Facebook link to reserve my spot. As my daughter left very excitedly with the sitter to drive there this morning, I called to confirm. I was told that my daughter was not on the list and that it's mostly for students, and I needed to call and reserve a spot and pay. There was nothing on the Facebook post saying

We cannot say enough great things about Miss Colleen and her amazing team.We are fortunate enough to work with many amazing schools, but Miss Colleen's Elite Dancentre is top notch. They doing everything with the utmost class, compassion and caring about their students. It is obvious they love their students and families and we love being a part of the Family

I totally love this place - my daughter has had two years of fall in dance and two summer of dance. First two times in the fall were ballet dance and summers were hip hop. She totally loved it and was always excited to go. They always worked with my daughter the best way that they could to accommodate her needs and wants. They were always patient and kind with her and everyone. Love this place. We don't attend anymore, because of the conflict of our schedules don't add up. I would totally recommend this place to anyone.

Miss Colleen's is a goldmine. As a professional in the dance field, I had the privilege to join the ELITE team last year as an instructor, and it was the best decision I ever made. The studio is a home away from home for all students, whether you are a recreational dancer or competitive. The welcoming atmosphere is incomparable, and unlike many studios around.

As a teacher/choreographer at Miss Colleen's Elite Dancentre I felt it appropriate to respond to your review and clarify some of the things you have unfortunately misconstrued.
I have worked at many dance studios on the North and South Shore and one thing I can tell you for sure are these kids have more discipline, respect, drive and love for dance then I have seen combined. While it may have annoyed you to have these kids rooting each other on- we see it as encouragement for one another, respect for one another and a bond they have created for years past

The 2017 Recital was a mess. The older students who weren't on stage sat in the audience screaming their friends names. I paid $50 for 2 tickets to be subjected to this? It was horrible. I don't care if it was the seniors last show. There was nothing polished or professional about it. You could see some kids feet and costumes while they sat watching from the wings. I was sitting in the middle of the auditorium and I could see them. And apparently some seniors CHANGED their choreography to what THEY preferred, instead of doing their original dance. What kind of school encourages that

Lol this review has been here for almost a year. You're funny tho. Very unprofessional business; sent a competition team consisting of 10-13 year olds to compete without adult supervision, allows students to rearrange class pictures excluding members of the class, cancels classes without notifying all students. As a side note, Red and Blue team captains arrange practice according to their own schedule so dance does not interfere with their schedules, all 15 of them. You should know that because you're so involved in school activities. Right? Please. Talk to your students. I have. They

Not supportive of Red and Blue???? Ms Colleen and the teachers were extremely supportive when both of my daughters were on Red and Blue. My girls were dance coordinators and she allowed them both to use the dance school for their practices. In addition my girls took both Red and Blue commitment and Competition commitments seriously and were able to juggle it all.

As a dancer, I researched EVERY studio in a 10 mile radius. My boyfriends daughter wanted to take tap (one thing I don't teach) and had to make sure she got the best education she could
Every teacher has a degree in dance, the staff is so nice, the owner is as sweet as can be, prices are reasonable and my boyfriends daughter couldn't be happier.
They allowed her to try all the classes she was interested in before we signed up.
I highly recommend this studio to everyone. Up to date flooring, and 4 nice sized studios with a fifth HUGE one.
