Filing for divorce is never how we plan a marriage to go. When we commit ourselves to someone, we expect to have that comfort forever. Chris LaFrance is a certified Collaborative Divorce Attorney. Collaborative divorce is advantageous to couples wishing to end their marriage without the usual anger and resentment that divorce can bring to families.
Some areas of Florida, such as Hillsborough County, require divorcing parties to attend mediation before a court date can be set. Attending mediation will be less costly and time-consuming and give people more control over the final outcome as compared to attending a trial. Mediation will end if both parties agree on all issues.

First, my recommendation is don't get a divorce if you don't have to. Second, if you have to get a divorce and need a lawyer... get Chris LaFrance. He is your man! I went through the storm in 2016 and Chris has been by my side ever since. He is calm, professional, honest and ALWAYS prepared. When my wife left me and filed for divorce I was floored and completely taken by surprise. I stumbled across a website and researched more attorneys than I care to think about. Shannon gave me the best possible experience in dealing with my divorce. She is calm, caring and methodical in her approach which is very important in family law.
