At McCart & Tesmer we focus on issues involving family relationships, such as divorce, paternity, and child custody. We work closely with our clients and represent them in family court proceedings or related negotiations and can also draft important legal documents such as court petitions or property agreements.
We never know what life will throw at us. At McCart & Tesmer, we work closely with our clients to protect their assets, assist with living wills, legacy planning, and designate a healthcare surrogate in the event of disability or death. When a loved one passes away, their estate may need to go through probate, which is the process through which the title is transferred from the name of the deceased to the names of the beneficiaries.

In Florida, when a unwed couple has a child, the Mother is presumed to have all legal rights to the child. Until a circuit court determines who is the legal Father, the Mother can decide all aspects of the child's life including where the child resides, how often the child can visit with relatives like the Father, and how the child will be medically treated.
For nearly 20 years, successful business owners, professionals and families have looked to our Tampa Bay lawyers to guide them in effectively securing their financial futures. Guardianship is the process where an individual is determined to be incapacitated to a degree which impairs his or her ability to make decisions on their own.
Probate is the legal process of transferring property ownership out of a deceased person's name and into the name of heirs or beneficiaries. Disposition Without Administration: Quickest and easiest form of probate administration, yet hardest to qualify for. Summary Administration: This probate is available to decedents who died more than 2 years ago or owned assets valued at less than $75,000.00.

Laurel Tesmer is without a doubt the best family law and estate attorney that I know - and I know a LOT of them. While I haven’t had the pleasure to work with her partner, I know that anyone with whom Laurel works is also incredible.
As a financial advisor who works with high income and high net worth clients, my clientele regularly need family law and estate planning help. I am extremely cautious with the people I refer, so the greatest compliment that I can give Laurel is that I trust her implicitly with my clients.

You'll never meet more honest Attorneys. From beginning to end they will help you. Laurel has handled things for us a couple of times, we wouldn't trust anyone else. Before finding McCart & Tesmer we were given false explanations which lead to more money and a bad end but that won't happen again, not with these ladies.

BEWARE! DO not spend your money on this POS!
Not only will you lose your hard earned money but you will not be contacted. This is possibly one of the worst attorneys I have ever ran across. Poor communication and even worse has no decency in returning phone calls. Be warned and don’t say you were not warned!
