My father started Dutch Wharf back in 1955 as a small boat repair facility on the Branford River. I've operated the business since 1986 and have faithfully followed his credo of offering discriminating boat owners high quality repairs and restorations at a fair price.

Our crew of full time professionals now spans every discipline providing exceptional carpentry and joinery, fiberglass repair, engine & mechanical replacement or repair, gel coat maintenance, painting and AWLGRIP service, electronics, refinishing and rigging repairs. Many of our team of professionals have been in the industry for over 20 years.
Services
At the opera, it's not over, 'til the fat lady sings. At Dutch Wharf, no job is finished until the owner, Paul Jacques, gives it his final touch. Please call for more information regarding your needs, or feel free to stop by the yard at any time. You are always welcome. You'll soon be singing our praises to friends and fellow yachtsmen.
On this site in the early 17th century Dutch lumber traders unloaded their cargoes of exotic woods from around the world and established one of the earliest lumber yards in the US. Their activity right here led to the eventual settlement of the town of Branford, which today is a bustling cosmopolitan community and an exciting destination port for many East Coast sailors.
When considering whether to re-power your vessel, EXPERIENCE is the first critical ingredient to seek. Dutch Wharf's mechanical and electrical craftsmen each have over 25 years of hands-on experience involving all aspects of engine replacement. The yard averages four to five re-powers per year. Careful & judicious removal of old engine, retaining serviceable components when possible.
Dutch Wharf is a Full service Boatyard offering a full marina for vessels of all sizes, winter storage (both dry and wet) for up to 140 boats as well as 10 buildings dedicated to maintenance and repair activities. The yard specializes in repair, maintenance and construction of wooden boats but also has a complete fiberglass repair capability.
Disclaimer: "Why Dutch Wharf?" articles in this section are based on actual Dutch Wharf customer experiences. The names of individuals and vessels have been changed to protect the innocent. Technical details are minimized to prevent boredom. I'd wager there isn't one yachtsman who hasn't recited those famous lines when at sea on a day when the sails are slack and no wind is forecast.
