Speech-In-Noise Test to determine ability to hear in noise compared to normal hearing persons. Hearing aid dispensing of digital technology instruments, multiple manufacturers, specialized to the individual's needs and lifestyle. All digital purchases include the 3 year warranty and a 3 year loss and damage policy with a low processing fee.
We keep a supply of batteries for you to purchase in our office. Stop in routinely for fresh batteries. Make sure to check the batteries in your hearing devices often and make sure there is no dirt, wax or debris interfering with the batteries performance.

A diagnostic hearing evaluation is the first step in determining your hearing capability. If you have a hearing loss, it will detail the extent, type, and specifics of your particular hearing loss. The diagnostic hearing evaluation will be performed by an audiologist, usually in his or her office, using equipment called an audiometer.
At the time of the hearing aid fitting and orientation session, Dr. Papel will program the devices using prescriptive algorithms. She will utilize LIVE SPEECH MAPPING as a real ear measure to ensure that the hearing aids are programmed to provide ideal benefit for the patient.
At this time, the patient is instructed in the care and use of the hearing aids, such as insertion and removal, battery changes or use of a charger, and general cleaning of the devices.Set up with the patient's cell phone or tablet may also be completed at this time. It is a good idea to bring a family member or close friend to this appointment to provide support for the patient.

Hearing aids have small working parts, and it is not uncommon over time for a hearing aid to need a repair. You may try to turn the hearing aid on in the morning and find that there is no sound; the battery door may come unhinged. These things do happen, even when the hearing aids are properly cared for.
