I wasn't really sure what I was looking for when I went down to BlueSky to look at umbrellas. I wanted maximum shade that would fit on an awkwardly sized deck. It would have to stand up to serious rain and some wind, but not cost an arm and three legs. The show room was enormous and carried high quality furniture and umbrella models, including the ones I was initially geared towards.
Bob was courteous and helpful. He walked me through options that matched my requirements and answered all my questions. He even helped me sketch out a layout to see whether my choices would fit.

Bob is very knowledgeable about both Teak Furniture (having designed and manufactured his own line, and in high performance shade products like Tuuci Umbrellas, which can cover a table, a patio, he stars, and or a pool, and in the emerging area of smart roofs, which can open to let you see the stars, but can block a sudden hard shower.
If you want to make your outdoors an extra room, be sure and call Bob, because he has solutions that are not in any one catalog.

I just had two of our teak chairs fixed at BlueSky today. I am very happy with the result and wanted to share my pleasant experience. Some bolts that fasten the sliders of the two chairs came off. The chairs are part of an outdoor set (table + 6 chairs + a bench+ umbrella) we bought at store called The Teak Patio almost 10 years ago when we were living in Palo Alto. Except for the broken bolts of the two chairs, the set is still in great condition even though it has been placed outdoor fully exposed to the elements ever since we took them home. We went to BlueSky as one of our first stops, and I'm so glad that we did! Bob was extremely helpful in explaining what to look for when shopping for teak furniture. We left his shop the first day and continued to look around to check prices. After going to just about every other store on the peninsula, we came back to Blue Sky because of the quality, price and service. I would definitely use them again.

We have been doing business with Blue Sky for a couple of years now and have nothing but good experiences. This year, we needed some help with design and layout. Bob came out to our facility and was quite helpful in helping us maximize our space, while still being cost effective. Originally, "Bob", was helpful and relatively diligent in my need to find an outdoor furniture cover. His recommended covers did not fit my furniture, and when I went back to let him know, he blamed me on the information that I have provided, was obnoxious, abusive, and informed me he cannot do anything.
I do not remember, ever in my life, someone so repugnant. I asked for his name and flagrantly and vociferously said: "get the ...!$@ out of my store".

After fretting too long about buying new teak furniture and trying to figure my options online, I called Bob at Blue Sky and went down to his showroom in Menlo Park for a look. Got my many questions answered quickly, picked a very handsome and highly functional table and chair set, and took delivery a few days later. Prices were very good considering the quality of the furniture. Sometimes shopping is better in person.

We recently purchased an outdoor dining table, chairs and a 'living room' set of gorgeous Teak furniture from Blue Sky Outdoor. Bob was extremely helpful during the process - allowing us to take chairs home to see what would work best in our yard. The quality of his furniture is excellent - it has beautiful lines and is sturdier than teak furniture we saw any where else. The furniture finishes the yard and is absolutely stunning.
