The primary business is marine maintenance, service, and repairs located in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, specialized in boat propeller design and alterations. The business expanded into an online shopping website in 2006 of Mercury Marine products.

DON'T bring your motor here to be repaired. Jim had our motor for 8 full weeks this summer; not because it took that long to fix, but because his priority was working on motors related to his racing business. He promised it would be done several times, then when we went to pick it up, he said it wasn't ready. He is knowledgable about motors, but his work is very slow and his delays cost us the use of our boat for the whole summer. Take your motor repair to someone who will care about customer satisfaction.

I went through my boat last spring checking compression, DVA readings carb cleaning, fuel & filters and so on I brought it someplace else to get it fixed. After 2 stints to get it repaired elsewhere, I talked with our mechanics at work and both directed me to Merten. I was frustrated enough I was about ready to purchase a new motor to the tune of $11K. Merten asked me to write down all the things I had already done and any readings I had. Bought a rubber grommet for my outboard cowling. Sent a description of the item i needed with the purchase of the grommet. Before shipping the item, Merten sent me back pictures with a tape measure for exact measurements. Installed grommet this weekend, awesome fit.

WARNING!!!!! Do NOT use Merten Marine!!! --I am not one to ever post slander online but others need to know--Long story short, took my boat there to get fixed, they lied to me, refused to give me a quote, and then charged me two thirds what I originally paid for my boat when I picked it up! (All labor- parts where only about $200) this is after repeated attempts to find out an estimate or hours worked on the boat. (Understandable that boat repairs are costly), however, I was never quoted with a ball park price-parts needed- or even what was wrong. (As I specifically requested in writing) I called
