Oftentimes the cause of severe pain in your foot or toes is hidden by pain and other symptoms. Frequent bunions could be caused by other problems in your feet, such as arthritis, calluses or hammertoes, and bunions can lead to hallux limitus. Conditions like lupus, turf toe or Freiberg's disease may also be responsible for foot pain.
A bunion (hallux valgus) is best known for causing toe pain and instability in the first joint. If you have joint pain, stiffness, burning, swelling or a deformity at the base of your big toe, you may have a bunion. Many people with bunions suffer additional discomfort from the constant irritation, rubbing, and friction against shoes.
Bunions must be addressed surgically if conservative treatment fails. In this case we recommend that the patient avoid minimal incision procedures as these deformities will return within 5 to 10 years. Bunion surgery is generally very successful; 90% of people who've had bunion surgery indicate significant reduction in pain and would recommend this procedure to others.
Hammertoes are one of the most common, treatable foot conditions. According to one study, around 3% of adults (or 7 million people) nationwide have experienced hammer toe, claw toe, or mallet toe. I had a very good first experience here with Dr Henke. He was easy to talk to and addressed each of my concerns, giving me a couple options for each (including not having to do anything). I opted to have a simple procedure to address one of them, and he did it very gently with no pain. I would not hesitate to go back if needed!

I am always greeted with a smile and asked how I’m doing. Along with Dr.Kokat the staff if great! When scheduling for a visit and being seen never takes a long time. They do their best to provide the best care ever and Dr. Kokat is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that healing process is going well.

I went to see Dr. Kokat for a consult on my foot-now I understand why he has so many 5 star reviews! He is awesome! He was friendly, didn’t rush through the appointment and explained all of my options to me in terms anyone could understand. He didn’t push me towards any certain solution, just gave me all the information so I could make an informed decision. His staff was very friendly and helpful, and even though my appointment was toward the end of the day, everything was on time-I barely had to wait at all before I was seen. I will definitely be returning for my surgery without any concerns
