A.R. Pontius Flower Shop, on Main Street in Harbor Springs, has been providing floral and garden design in Northern Michigan for over 98 years. We design fresh flowers for weddings, events, and everyday arrangements, and plant annual and container gardens. We also carry a unique selection of indoor plants.

Services
In 1923 Arthur Pontius left the printing business and started A.R. Pontius Flower Shop with his wife, Florence. They grew award-winning gladiolus and lilies in the lot behind the shop and sold them in the same location the shop is in today, on Main Street, in beautiful Harbor Springs, Michigan. I grew up in Petoskey, just across Little Traverse Bay.
In 2016 we purchased a 10-acre organic farm 5 miles north of Harbor Springs, with the goal of growing flowers to sell at the shop. In addition to the acreage, the property had 100 apple trees, rows of raspberries, tons of lupine, a greenhouse, a pole barn with an attached apartment, and a deer fence.
Whether your style is casual, traditional, contempory, or classic, the designers at Pontius will translate the color and texture of flowers into a work of art. Our flowers arrive several times a week, and we have local, traditional, and tropical choices available all season. Call us with a specific design or let us design for you!
Any occasion can be brightened by fresh flowers! We design for dinner parties, gallery openings, rehearsal dinners, open houses, graduation parties, fundraisers, and many other events. Contact us to design your unique event! We also specialize in weekly floral arrangements delivered to your home over the summer season.
Container gardens are the best way to brighten a deck or porch, and we are experts at knowing which plants will thrive where. Color and texture options are endless, and even the smallest space can be brightened with the right container garden. We are available for fall and winter containers as well.
