To enjoy the arrangement to its fullest potential, you may change the water every other day: Carefully tip the arrangement over the sink, pouring out the water. Grasp all the stems together and recut the bottom of each stem at an angle with scissors or clippers. Place the arrangement back into the vase and refill with fresh water.
Keep the orchid in a place that receives natural, filtered light throughout the day. Orchids enjoy warmer temperatures and humid environments. Avoid direct sunlight and chilly temperatures. Don't over or underwater. How you water is as important as how often. How: Use room temperature water. Subtle differences in temperature can be tolerated by healthy plants.

I made a last minute decision to buy special occasion roses for my wife, so I popped into Northgate Florist and gave Barbara my budget and color ideas, and she weaved a wonderful arrangement. Talented and full service (she even buckled the water filled vase into my passenger seat for the ride home!). The arrangement was a hit. My wife asked where I got them and when I told her, she said "Of course,... my friend loves that florist".

Northgate Florist is the absolute BEST! I work in a vet clinic right next door to Barbara, and we often send flowers to clients that need some emotional support. I cannot praise Northgate Florist highly enough! I called the day before Passover with the hopes of getting a fitting arrangement for my dad’s widow. Barbara came through with flying colors, patiently listening to my specific requests (unfazed by my wretched internet connectivity which would have resulted in some just hanging up on me!) and applying her substantial talents to create a lovely arrangement which she personally delivered. WOW, I stumbled upon Northgate Florist while doing business in a shopping center I do not frequent, but BOY I am so glad I did! This cute little Mom and Pop shop is overflowing with beautiful fresh flowers and the Owner Barbara was by far a dream to work with. With a same day delivery of a specialty arrangement, Barbara not only delivered the arrangement herself, but followed the experience up with a personal phone call to make sure everyone was happy with the design! I used Barbara for 3 floral arrangements for my appearance on television on Bay Area Focus for my table setting business Set The Occasion. I ordered flowers for Mother's Day and went for the custom option leaving it down to the florist to decide after setting a dollar amount. Have to say my wife certainly wasn't disappointed when those flowers arrived on our doorstep. They were beautiful. WOW! Absolutely beautiful. So true to the arrangement pictured online too! This was a last-minute "thinking of you" order for a friend in need and it arrived within a few hours. This arrangement took my breath away when I walked into the room. It was nothing less than perfect. I wish I had the option of giving triple stars. Thank you, Barbara.

They do not even deserve a star. The most embarrassing flower arrangement sent to my wife on Mother's Day. I paid for grand flowers, and I got supermarket flowers. Spend $10 at the gas station, or burn your money. You are better off. The picture shows at least 40 roses, my wife had 20. 20 short stem Roses for $240. Go elsewhere with your business!

What a ripoff... I spent close to $200 because the arrangement looked large and beautiful. What was delivered was small and looked like I spent $40 on the flowers. If the picture on their website looked like the result that was delivered, I would have NEVER ordered these flowers. I would give them fewer stars if there were a way to give negative ratings.

I ordered a standing floral arrangement for a celebration of life for my BFF's father, and although I didn't see the flowers personally, the picture says it all. The arrangement looks stunning and the family was so appreciative. They arrived on time, exactly at the time I requested and was the show stopper at the entrance to the mass. They did a great job, and I can't thank them enough!

Amazing florist. We had to order online as we live so far from San Rafael. The order was placed on a Sunday then I sent an IM with special instructions. They IM'd back they would call in the morning and took care of doing exactly what we wanted. They called when the flowers were out for delivery and when they were delivered. Unbelievable customer service and the bouquet was so beautiful. This florist goes above and beyond to assure they exceed all expectations.

My husband has bought numerous bouquets of flowers over the years from Northgate Florist. Recently I organized a birthday party for him at Marin Shakespeare's "new" building at 514 Fourth Street San Rafael. I asked them to provide 12 table centerpieces using an unusual vase.

Wanted to send my mom flowers from out of town. Called Northgate and they were able to deliver the flowers within a few hours and they turned out beautifully! The lady on the phone described what the bouquet looked like but it turned out much prettier than I could have expected! Will use their services again.
