The quality of your hearing can be easily overlooked, mainly if you don't experience any immediate symptoms. A lot of people think that hearing loss is a problem that can be dealt with further down the road. The reality, though, is that issues with hearing start earlier than expected. Too many people think hearing tests are for people who already have a severe hearing loss.
A detailed hearing test provides us with valuable details to determine the best course of care. Specific forms of hearing loss are treated medically or surgically, so before you consider hearing aids or other treatments, certain types of hearing loss must be excluded. The hearing assessment can help us to know which hearing aids are best suited to your needs if it is determined that you can benefit from hearing aids.
Hearing is a dynamic process that involves not just the ear's reaction but also the ability to understand words. Hearing loss is a growing problem worldwide, affecting people of all ages. It can be caused by noise, age, and as side effects of other conditions. The rate of hearing loss increases the older people get.
In recent years, hearing aid technology has advanced considerably. These days, hearing aids are more discreet, sophisticated, easy to use, and technologically advanced than ever. There's never been a better time to use a hearing aid. What would hearing aid be appropriate for you? This depends on the extent of your loss of hearing, the locations you want to hear better, the nature of your lifestyle, and the technology you consider essential.
Oticon was founded in 1904 and is a member of the Big Six major hearing aid manufacturers. Oticon's origin story reflects its slogan "People First": Hans Demant founded the company to develop hearing technology, inspired by his wife who had hearing loss herself. From these beginnings, Oticon is committed to helping people "communicate freely, to interact naturally and to actively participate."
