Wesleyan Pre-School
We have a great staff with NYS certified teachers. We provide a well-balanced developmentally appropriate, hands-on curriculum. Our program addresses the four major areas of child development social, emotional physical and academic. Our class size is the smallest in the area, so our teachers really get to know their students.
Services
The Wesleyan School offers two different 1 day a week enrichment programs for 4yr-olds. There is a math & science program and a reading writing program. Both programs will have a strong literature component. These topics will be introduced and reinforced through the use of appropriate non-fiction and fiction literature.
Nursery school is the child's bridge carrying him from home to his entrance into an organized school experience. Circle Time - Sharing time, flag, calendar, helpers chart, discussion of special interest topic for each day, simple games (opposites, alike/different, spatial concepts, etc.) Play is the chief avenue of learning.

All 3 of my children went there. It’s a nurturing environment. It’s a special place where kids can learn the fundamentals to get ready for school while having fun and interacting with their peers.

Wesleyan has the kindest most conscientious teachers I have ever experienced. My grandson was in mrs. Grayson’s class. She was patient, and loving, and kind. My grandson’s first school experience was a wonderful one. I would highly recommend Wesleyan!

Lots of fun to be had. A great loving environment for children in the Smithtown area to come and develop socialization and learning skills. It is a mission of the Smithtown United Methodist Church but is non-sectarian. Spread the word.

This past year was my first year working at Wesleyan School as a teacher. This truly is a school where students can enjoy an age-appropriate curriculum while having a ton of fun. I absolutely adored my students this year, and was impressed with the experienced teachers (many teachers for 30+ years) who were only too happy to mentor me and who… clearly still have a passion for teaching and children. The aides are also kind, friendly, and loved by the students and staff. I cannot say enough positive things about the people I work with and the families I've had the privilege to work for. I
