Cardiff by the Sea is a special niche in North County San Diego. Since I first started selling coastal real estate here, I've been telling clients how I saw Cardiff as the precious gem of North County. At that time, it was a mix of glam and grime, with tons of beach town character. You had million dollar homes (expensive at the time) with broken down, rusted out VW buses in the driveways.
But the views from almost every property west of the 5, and many east of 5, combined with the fact that the town center is small with no room to grow, made it easy to imagine a future gem of a town that would have spectacular ocean view homes, but the quaint town character that is very very rare in Southern California.
