My mother was discharged today from the Glenbrook SNF after spending a month in recovery. This was her second one month stay in the past year. The administrator, Sadie Harness, is a truly outstanding leader who gets to know the residents and gets involved to assist when needed. The staff took great care of my mother, and mom often told me how much she appreciated all the care givers.

I'm one of those fortunate people who has enjoyed being active and in good health all of my life. But wear and tear took it's toll and I needed knee joint replacement surgery.
After 3 days post-surgery in Scripps hospital, I was transferred to the GlenBrook Health Center.
Because of COVID restrictions I had a room to myself. It had all the amenities: TV, a hospital bed that could be articulated to at least 137 different positions, a urine bottle should I need it. It was such a pleasure to have my mom rehabilitate after a serious illness of salmonella.
She was able to regain her strength at this wonderful facility where the Frontline workers, nurses, doctors and physical therapists were a gold star version of how to treat patience at Glenbrook.
My mom Joyce Sachse, continually commented on how wonderful and gourmet the food was at every meal.
My mom was there rehabilitating for 25 days and she was absolutely impressed and delighted at the kindness of all of your staff!

When I walked into GlenBrook Health Center, I was immediately welcomed with a warm hello and how can I help you? The staff at GlenBrook provides outstanding customer service. During my wait, I observed the interaction between the employees. It is evident to me that GlenBrook not only genuinely cares for their clients but also for each of their employees. My mom was here for about 1 month in the skilled nursing facility. Our whole family and many friends were so impressed with everything. They really care about their patients and the staff is just amazing. They were so helpful with setting up appointments outside of the facility and they do their absolute best to accommodate any requests made. We actually had meetings with a staff member from nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, social services, etc to see how things were going and if we were happy with everything. My dad resided in skilled nursing/rehab from February 2018 to June 2018.

Joean, Dad's case manager, relieved our anxiety AND made sure he got the best care and placement.. We found the nursing staff to be efficient and kind. The entire staff works tirelessly. I've been dealing with this place for about six years regarding my mom. A lot of hardworking people here who give their all. But management seems to have declined into a more profit-centric attitude. I don't even know the new management but I've seen their policies.
Here is a for instance. I've been asking for months for them to fix a broken drawer in my mom's room. I think for the nearly $8000 a month we pay the damage would be repaired quickly but today I kind of hit a frustration level and thought, I'll just post this on social media.

Pt/ot/st are always on time and making pts laugh
Director and director assist always make time for you and explain things in detail if you have questions

If I could give this nightmare facility a negative 100 stars, I would. If you really care about your loved ones and want excellent care, please find any other place. From the lack of answering phones, to the disrespectful attitude of the nursing staff, to the incompetent communication - lack of safety, etc it could not be WORSE. How they keep their license is beyond me. The worst facility I have ever encountered. EVER!
