First visit:
This clean, quiet place is a favorite of many different kinds of people, ranging from cable and telephone guys to high-ranking local politicians and newspaper people like myself. I have a special love for the meat-filled pastries they call empanadas, and here they are superb - I like to have a meal of two or three, at $2.50 each. I usually accompany them with a small bowl of black beans and rice liberally sprinkled with onions they provide separately and with Cuban toast to dip. But when it comes to a great, simple meal like chicken and rice - the good basic stuff - they cannot be

The only reason I’m giving a two is because the server was very sweet. I got chicken soup which came in a small small bowl and ordered a dinner plate that had chicken peppers onions and plantains.. there was no chicken and was almost all veggies. My sweet tea wasn’t really tea it was powered based. The owner was so rude and didn’t smile or nothing. He gave my boyfriend a very nasty look when he walked away. We didn’t get our bread after we order our food we had to wait til our food came to get bread but everyone else that came in got bread while waiting for their order. They are way overpriced

Trust me on this one. Take the detour off I75 if you are traveling. The best most authentic cuban food that won't break the bank! We love the food, cuban sandwiches, pastries and milkshakes. You will enjoy your little excursion!

Cuban delicatessen with superb sandwiches, plantains, and many more selections. 🤤 I highly recommend a cuban regular or cuban media Noche sandwich with extra meat. They offer a great lunch special: cuban regular + 20oz soda. They also serve breakfast 😋
The entrance, restrooms, and indoor seating are accessible by all. There is parking on site.

Roast pork sandwich with the grilled onions was delicious. The bread has the crunchy crust and soft interior. Also had a cuban which is one of the best around. Wait staff is very friendly and the cleanliness of the restaurant is outstanding.

Good restaurants are a dime a dozen, but great restaurants are definitely rare. Cafe Havana definitely falls in the great restaurants category. The flavors are well developed, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the desserts leave you wanting more. I would not only recommend this place, but I would encourage anyone that is on the fence about trying it to go boldly and enjoy everything they have to offer.

Was looking for a restaurant with Cuban sandwiches and found this place. I walked in and waited for the hostess to be seated. No one came; but there was a line where people were ordering so we thought we had to go through the line and then be seated. We placed our order then sat at a table. While waiting a man came over to give us menus. I explained we had ordered already because we thought you had to order at the counter. He yelled and stated I should have waited to be seated by a hostess and that I needed to take my food to go since I ordered it at the counter. I could not believe how rude he

Hands down best empanada ever! It's not pictured because I inhaled it. The Cuban was delicious & so was the Man's chicken dinner. Taking my bestie there for her birthday in a week.

Tonight’s Cuban Crawl took us on a pilgrimage to 15th Street East and Cafe Havana. This place is AWESOME. I wasn’t sure what to expect (based on geolocation assumptions) but everything exceeded our expectations. Space was clean. Service was super friendly, attentive and laid back. Food came out quick. Prices were very fair. Portion sizes were ample. Food was outstanding. If you’re looking for a delicious Cuban sandwich, Cafe Havana is a totally safe bet.

Was driving by and saw this place. Read the reviews and decided to give it a try. At first you're like, this is next to a convince store but I love trying places like this. Hidden gem!
Now let's start by saying I'm a chef so I'm picky about how my steaks are cooked. This Churrasco was cooked to PERFECTION! The yuca is was perfectly cooked and no mushy. My boyfriend ordered the white rice and beans with his Churrasco and the beans did not disappoint and were packed with flavor. I haven't had good Cuban food in a long time and if I'm ever in the area again visiting

I came here for the first time and it's will be my last the waitress that to care of us kept rolling her eyes at my family ask for a tuna salad sandwich and they understood a tuna salad also ordered a breaded bistec and they gave me an empanada it was hilarious then I called the owner the restaurant because the waitress kept being rude and saying sarcastic phrases towards my fam and he defended the waiter saying it was her way of expressing herself lol. He never apologized for the situation and told us that if he didn't like it to not come back. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant

Please find another Cuban spot around town, I do not recommend this place. Some 20+ years of service are seemingly coming to an end. Last time I came it was nothing but subpar food and bad service. On top of that, the business owner justifies a servers bad behavior despite agreeing the server was "naturally a rude person". Beware.

I really don't know what the hype was all about. The food had no flavor. The beans tasted like it went bad. The $4 milkshake tasted like plain milk. Will not be going back!!

Went there with my family to have breakfast and the food was great in some way it reminded me Puertorican breakfast with the stuffed potato (rellenos) their empanada (empanadillas) but best of all was the beef round empanadas that for us is called (pastelillos de carne ) those were really good!! I definitely recommend trying them!

Don't let the modest setting fool you: there is some truly excellent Cuban food being served here. We had Cafe Havana cater our wedding, and our guests couldn't stop telling us how delicious everything was. The key is that Cafe Havana focus on a few authentic Cuban staples (Ropa Vieja, empanadas, Cubano sandwiches, etc.) and makes sure they do them right. Whatever you order, you won't be disappointed.

Bonus- Jose was a delight to work with: flexible, responsive and super-friendly. He makes sure his customers are taken care of, a rarity today.

Stop in here a few weeks ago to have lunch. I remember coming here a few years ago but I really didn't remember too much about it so it was more like my first time. the Cuban is supposed to be amazing here but the Piccadillo seemed amazing so I did what any food-obsesses person would do..... got both.
I also ordered a side of Cuban rice however my only regret is not sticking with the medium sized portion that I originally ordered. The waiter talked me into getting a small but it was so delicious I could have easily in the medium or large order. I will definitely return.

Cuban sandwich was not anywhere near as good as I was hoping. Pork tasted like it was heated up in a microwave and not enough mustang, missing that tang. I might have only had 1 or 2 pickles on the one half of a 12". I'd take my chances elsewhere. The tres leches was pretty good, just kind of soggy bread but good flavor, texture left more to be desired. Rice and beans were very good, but ask for extra onions, only got one little cup for a pretty big serving.
