Our program puts them at ease first with games and fun while gradually introducing the martial art aspect. Our beginners class focus on the basics of Jiu Jitsu. We balance the physical part of building the conditioning, drilling moves, situational rolls, with the mindset and philosophy teachings.

We offer kids, teenagers and adults (men and women) Jiu Jitsu classes as well as street self-defense and anti-bullying classes for kids. Our classes are held in a fun and relaxed environment and the level of instruction is world class. Originally from Gracie Humaita in Rio de Janeiro, professor Igor's lineage traces back to the founder of Jiu Jitsu Master Helio Gracie.

Professor Igor started training Jiu Jitsu in his home town of Nova Iguau in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He trained under Prof. Andre Negao and Prof. Royler Gracie at the Gracie Humaita Nova Iguau academy with a direct lineage to Master Helio Gracie, the founder of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
After getting his black belt, Prof. Igor moved to the U.S. where he won several titles in Jiu Jitsu and grappling tournaments and started teaching at different academies.The School offers kids, teenagers and adults (men and women) Jiu Jitsu and self-defense classes 6 days a week.

Our kids classes are divided in 2 groups: 4 to 7 and 8 to 15 years old. For the little ones we focus on having fun and respecting the mats. BJJ techniques are introduced in a friendly and warm environment, while promoting focus, group work, and self awareness. For the bigger kids our program covers anti-bullying techniques, competition training, self-defense, team building also making sure they have fun in the process.

Estrella JJ is a great place in East Bay to learn jiu jitusu. Great for beginners young and old. Igor is a great teacher and makes you feel welcome day one. The culture is very positive and friendly. We cannot express how much gratitude I have for Instructor Igor and his BJJ community. I enrolled my son about 5 months ago to help build up his self confidence and instill some discipline. By far one of the best instructors to have guiding our kids. Instructor Igor is precise on what he teaches his students. My son leaves his class feeling challenged and accomplished. My daughter is tested beyond what she ever thought she would be. We feel that what our kids learn with Igor they will continue to build on. They office classes throughout the day. There is a class for everyone. We're looking forward to the summer camp program that has been the works. So happy.

Great team of coaches! My daughter is 7 years old going on 8 and she LOVES LOVES LOVES coming here and training with Igor. The location is great and accessible and classes are often 6 days a week! Perfect for busy working parents. It's been a year now since we enrolled and I've enjoyed our experience thus far.

Professor Igor Estrella is an accomplished world class Jiu Jitsu competitor. But more importantly, he is a humble and patient teacher. He provides excellent instruction for any practitioner at any level. Although the gym is small, Igor provides plenty of individual attention with his vast knowledge of Gracie Jiu Jitsu. I strongly recommend checking out Igor Estrella's Jiu Jitsu School to anyone who is interested in self-defense, competition, or just wants a good cardio workout!

I heard about this place from word of mouth. My husband and I have been interested in putting our son in a Jiu Jitsu class for sometime. We’re aware there are many locations now that offer the program, however, we wanted a true trained Jiu Jitsu professional. Not just some Joe who took classes. We decided to try it out and it’s been 5 months now and we could not be more happy. Our son is in the youngest age group and he works wonderfully with them, while being professional. The class is very engaging and fun! I would highly recommend Estrella Jiu Jitsu.

We love this school! I can’t say enough about Instructor, Igor. My son has been doing Martial Arts since he was 5. He specifically asked for more contact and you know what, he is getting just what he asked for. Not only is he challenged and tested beyond what he ever thought to be he is enjoying his new family. My daughter needed extra help due to a previous injury. Jiu Jitsu has helped her with her strength and to be more confident. We love coming here.

Igor Estrella, a very good Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Athelete. Watching him teach, he implements good discipline, but also keeping it very fun for the kids. It’s a great sport for you or your kids to do, while making new friends, learning new techniques, and having a good workout.
