Located in the heart of historic downtown Anoka on Main Street, G's Caf has been a family favorite since being establish in 1989. Serving breakfast and lunch seven days a week with a nearly 100% from scratch kitchen. Our breakfast and lunch menu has been developed to give you a wide range of local traditional options with a touch of Irish flare.
Some of our more popular items like our homemade Corned Beef Hash, Irish Skillet, Reuben Sandwich, Big Irish Burger and Shamrock Club find their way to many of our guests tables. Our friendly staff would love for you to stop in for a bite; we've got the coffee on and a table ready!

Services
G's cafe is the crown jewel of eating establishments in downtown Anoka. As a native Nebraskan, I'm choosy about my Reubens, and so it makes me happy to say that Kevin's Reuben is the best one I've EVER had in a restaurant; the corned beef is an actual slow cooked brisket, not deli meat! The Rum River Rodeo burger is the best cheeseburger I've had in Anoka and probably for some distance further than that.

Was looking for a local restaurant to support and to enjoy breakfast at for my best friends birthday and I'm glad I chose here. It was the first time for both of us coming here. The entire staff was welcoming and friendly and the food was wonderful. Even though they were packed full we were constantly checked in on and our coffee and waters were always full. I definitely will return.

Loved the food. Corned beef hash may be the best in the state; it's the best I've ever eaten. Coffee was basic but plentiful. Basted eggs were good. Service was sufficient and the waitresses kind.
This is my only disappointment: my friend and I stayed for three hours. As we were closing our time, the manager (I think) came and told us quickly that the busy time of the day was starting and they needed tables. In so many words, you need to leave. There were at least four tables open and no one was waiting.
Whether right or wrong, it didn't sit well with me. Maybe it was the gruff way he said it

I moved to the area last week and had to try the local favorites. Stopped here late morning on a Sunday. The line to get a seat was way out the door and down the hall. They do not take names so you stand in line and wit your turn. No big deal. I was alone so figured it would go quick. There are not a lot of spots/tables and on a Sunday there are larger groups which they dealt with as well as they could. Everyone who was in line with me said it was worth the wait. The lady who was going to seat me apologized for the wait a couple times. I reassured her it was not a problem. I quickly decided on

What a great little spot in Anoka. G's is a small, cozy "mom and pop" type restaurant. We were here for breakfast - the food was no frills, down home, legit breakfast. My omelette was one of the better I've had in awhile. I think I was full all day. We were seated right away and the service was excellent, very attentive. If you are looking for solid breakfast, you won't be disappointed at G's!

Had to update went in today to this little gem of a place and everything is still true. Their pancakes are so good. They have a great local crowd that comes in even when it was freezing like today. Stopped here for breakfast/lunch this morning. I hade the cakes and eggs. It came with one pancake, two eggs and a meat selection $7.99. My husband had the special which was corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, carrots and Irish soda bread for $10.99. The special was delicious with the veggies perfectly steamed. They had the right texture and were not over done. The eggs tasted farm fresh and the

My "Irish Skillet" was one of the best skillets I've had. Hash browns accented with corned beef, onions, peppers, and tomato. The tomato added a brightness to an otherwise rich dish. The Hollandaise sauce was amazing. Very flavorful, rich but light, smooth and creamy. There was enough corned beef to taste it but not so much as to overpower the rest of the ingredients.

Great little breakfast/lunch spot on Main Street Anoka, MN, the self proclaimed ,"Halloween Capital of the World"! I had breakfast there this first visit so no opinion on the lunch items.
For breakfast I chose the Biscuits and Gravy special which is only served on the weekend. Prior to giving my opinion on the food, I would say that I agree with the majority of reviewers and say the service is friendly and the servers are quick to top off your coffee! I would disagree with many in relation to the speed of food delivery and say mine was great! Less than 10 minutes but I was a party of

I tried it on a Monday afternoon. Ordered one egg, one piece of toast w/ 1/2 order of cornbeef hash waited 1/2 hour and only 3 tables with two eating already. The cook had a 2 top and me alone. Walked out after 35 minutes and three coffee refills. I didn't go there for coffee. Unexpected!!! Left for sparky's under 10 minutes food on table. Hire a chef, or a cook that can do the job.

I got something very simple. The G's muffin. Nothing simple about the execution. It's huge, and flavorful in every bite. How they do something on a McDonald's menu, and put it on steroids is beyond me. Can a sausage patty be that addicting? I'm hooked and I'll come all the way from the TC to get it too. It's cool that Sunday is breakfast only. If you are in town, eat here, can't imagine anyplace else. Then there's Han's bakery for the trip home.
