This means we see each person's unique spark and understand that we all play a part in making the community what it is. We believe that when we create a community based on the values we want to see in society - equality, democracy and interdependence - we become more able to bring light into the world.
We all work together to take care of camp. Avodah cultivates a sense of personal responsibility and pride in the place we call home for the summer - we see that camp is a place that really does belong to every single one of us. When I first came to camp, I looked up to the older kids. It's so cool that now I can be a role model and help younger kids make Gilboa their home too!

With your help we will ensure that in a few short weeks over 200 Gilboa campers will be together with friends, building community, learning about their responsibility to the world, and creating memories that will stay with them forever. Kids, teens, and young adults need camp now more than ever, and we need you to make it happen!

Camp Gilboa's staff support and mentor the youth leadership and ensure that they are creating a meaningful and magical program within a safe and healthy camp environment. Elana has been part of the Gilboa family since 2013, after spending 12 years as a camper and on staff at our Habonim sister camp in Canada, Camp Miriam.

Throughout the year we hold local activities in three kenim (hubs), weekend seminars in the city and at camp, actions, and family camp, so you can see camp friends, make new friends and engage in Gilboa year-round. Right now many of our regular activities are on hold, but we have used this opportunity to find new ways to connect.

Throughout the year we have full weekend Gilboa seminars! Seminars are a chance to infuse the year with a bit of the magic of camp Shabbat - including Shabbat dinner, dancing, chuggim (electives), wacky fun, time with kvutzah (age group), musicale, havdallah, and friends! We help out-of-town kids with travel to LA! See below for details on travel to seminars and travel reimbursements.
