Lazy Bear Winery
Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Pickens County, SC, Lazy Bear Winery is a small business focused on fruit and berry wines. With a glimpse of Paris Mountain in the distance, we enjoy harvesting blueberries, strawberries, grapes, peaches, raspberries and blackberries on site. To supplement our own crops, we partner with local growers in the Greenville area.

Whenever possible, we strive to make specialty wines exclusively from locally sourced ingredients.
Services
We are retired Air Force, having served 20+ years for our Country. Our travels took us all over the US and Europe. We were stationed in Germany for 4 years, where we really learned to appreciate wine. Who knew 12 years later we would be making our own wine and open a winery. We retired from Charleston AFB, Charleston SC and moved to the Upstate near Greenville in 2006.
Using locally sourced wildflower honey, this mead is made in the traditional style, ready to awaken the viking that lives inside of you. Our Black Cherry Mead uses our Traditional Mead as its base, but adds in the sweet taste of black cherries for those of you looking for a little more flavor with their honey.
The tropical scents of pineapple and clementine will carry you away to paradise, while a dash of sage provides a little bit of spice to keep the fragrance grounded. The citrus fragrances of grapefruit, orange, and lemon are blended with the soothing aroma of mint and come together to provide a clean and refreshing scent.

What a special experience! We pulled up a little confused, because we just saw a house. The winery is in the back, owned by a sweet couple retired from the Air Force. They and their kids run this winery as a family business that happened organically as their first try led to award winning wine. The tasting experience, stories told by Ira, and overall exceptional customer service is well worth a stop.

Fantastic hidden gem with SO MANY flavors to choose from! Most reasonably priced wine tasting I've ever been to: 5 wines for $5, 10 wines for $10 or try ALL OF THEM for only $15. Kept track of which ones we liked best on this cute little scorecard. We loved the tasting room with all of the windows and light pouring in. The other tasting room has more of a classic "pub" feel, with dark wood touches and accent lighting. Ended the visit with a nature walk through the woods (even got to see the beehives on site!). Highly recommend.

We were greeted by the owners when we arrived. Tasting room was very comfortable. I did not expect to really like the wines since they were mainly fruit wines. To our surprise the wines were excellent! Their attention to all who were tasting was amazing and hearing about the wines was excellent.
The tray of snacks was also appreciated between each tasting. Bought 2 bottles and will definitely go back with friends.

A HIDDEN GEM seriously this was a passby what is this stop? I had seen signs for the winery after going hiking but never had a chance to stop. I am so glad I did. This is the quiet SOUTHERN elegance that so few are able to capture. It is a peaceful little stop that so many won't even notice and will miss out.
The owners are welcoming and very kind as well as open. When I stopped I imagined a small roadside business of wine. That is absolutely not this. This is a very gorgeous location a wood walkway by roses that leads under a trellis with english ivy many of us grew up on here in the south. The

This winery is a mom-and pop shop run behind their home in a separate beautiful facility. We were a little nervous pulling up because it wasn't a grand building like some wineries we had been to, but we are SO GLAD we stopped in. The owner and his son gave us a personal wine tasting in their beautiful tasting room, as well as a tour of their fermenting and bottling rooms - they could not have been more gracious! And the wines - THE WINES. They specialize in fruit wines, which was right up my alley. For a super reasonable price ($10 per person) we were able to sample all their wines and it was clear

This company is fantastic, they make an incredible assortment of fruit wines, Meads, sell honey from their own bee hives, candles scented to match their wine concoction, and Bees wax candles shaped like Bees. How cute! The tasting was such a great experience, with complimentary white and milk chocolate pretzels, crackers, and nuts it really made it special. Highly recommend this winery!

Lazy Bear Winery, located in Easley, South Carolina, was an absolute pleasure. The wines were delicious and unique. Their wines are primarily fruit and berry based. All natural recipes and local, South Carolina ingredients made the wines even sweeter. They have a healthy selection of seventeen different wines. Those include 3 meads, a couple dry wines and a number of yummy dessert wines. The owner was amazing, taking the time to explain their wines and processes, includinga tour of the wine making area. He was retired Air Force and showed that same pride of serving his country in making his wines

Very small but super quaint winery with friendly staff. Family run business, which makes and experiments on fruit wines. We enjoyed our visit and brought two smaller bottles of Plum and Raspberry wines. They offer regular sized bottles or smaller (2 glasses) bottles for purchase. We will come back!
