Core Pilates opened its doors in 2008. Owned and operated by Lisa M. Yakel, Core Pilates offers a warm and friendly environment that encourages and invites you to move your body in a more mindful manner. With a knowledgeable team of instructors who are comprehensively trained through highly accredited programs, we teach you the Art of Contrology, the way Joe Pilates intended.
Lisa M. Yakel (owner) has over thirty years in the dance and fitness industry. She earned a B.A. in Dance Performance from Russell Sage College, performed with local dance companies, including Maude Baum & Co. and Dance Eclectic, taught at local dance studios, and Russell Sage College and choreographed for numerous school productions.

Give me a minute to tell you why I came to Core Pilates - and hopefully, you'll find that something. I like to say "Core Pilates is small, but mighty!" And what I mean by small is that there are never more than 7 clients in the studio at a time (and that's the max for a tower or mat class).
Group class that combines all the exercises and philosophies of Pilates without the apparatus. In your mat space you will fuse two of the best mind body connected exercise forms: Yoga & Pilates. You will strengthen and condition your muscles using light dumbbells and your body weight. Come ready to sculpt and define arms, back, legs and glutes.
If you are new to the Pilates method we highly recommend and encourage you to start with our Introductory Package of four Private sessions so that your instructor gets to know and understand your fitness needs in a one on one setting. Then we will confidently place you in classes that will both challenge your mind and body to reach your fitness goals.
