Ahuti F. Ferid was born in Munich, Germany, and from the age of ten traveled with her family all over Europe, including North Africa. She graduated from the University of Munich with an MS in biology/bio-chemistry in 1976. Supported by a grant, she did three years of research at the medical school in Istanbul Capa, Turkey.
