I took my boots in for a new zipper. He told me he would also repair soles but didn’t mention the price. I was charged $98 and the first time I wore the shoes the zipper broke. When I took them back to complain he wanted to charge me more for replacing the zipper. He had just kept the original and repaired. I didn’t receive an itemized bill. He told me he wouldn’t have known if the zipper wasn’t working until you wear them. Waste of time and money.

Owner was very short with me when I went to drop off my sandals for repair. I could kick myself for still leaving them after the $28.00 fee just to glue the soles. He had the same attitude when I picked them up except pointing out where they were peeling which he should have said when I dropped them off. Maybe I would have felt they were not even worth it. I will never go back to Carman's Shoe Repair again. I do not recommend this place.

Best quality shoe repair around. Yes he is a little more expensive, but you get what you pay for. He works on my shoes like a heel cap replacement, shie buckle, etc and when I receive my shoes back, they look brand new! He has resoled my one pair of cowboy boots numerous times and it looks like i just took them out a shoe box. If you want quality work done, go to Carmen's!

Please ask the price of service before you get anything done. I was charged $9.00 for rubber taps (heels only) for 2 pairs of shoes. When he told me that it's going to be $18.00, I said, "that's expensive and I never paid that much for taps before." He didn't respond and I figured he needed the money during these difficult times? I could have gone into center city but wanted to support local businesses in Mt. Airy/Chestnut Hill, and will never spend money here again. I've lived in NY, SF, Chicago, and Denver and had wonderful experiences with cobblers in those cities but here's a business that
