In 1922 Elbert W. Allen founded a company in Belgium, Wisconsin that made shoes with responsive cork insoles instead of the awkward metal nails and shanks used in footwear at the time.

Such a frustrating experience on Saturday evening 11/27/21. I knew exactly what I wanted, just needed to check sizes before buying. The sales person made such a big deal about having to go back to find another size (I tried on TWO pairs only), he even tried to just convince me that the pair I first put on was the right size. He was just flat out lazy.

I bought my first pair of AEs in 2017. At the time Dan helped me pick out my first pair Schriers. I love these shoes so much and I still wear them at least 4 times a week and have never had them repaired. Today, I walked in and was greeted and helped by Dan again! I received the same high quality customer service as I did back in 2017. Dan's expertise made it very easy to quickly narrow down my choices and I walked out with two more pairs of great looking shoes. Both gentlemen who work out of this store know their craft like Roger Federer knows tennis. Ive worked with both, though Kyle helped me out on my recent visit. He was like a shoe sales angel, sent from the skies above. Sized me perfectly (and im not easy to size. My right foot is bigger than my left, I have the flattest feet, and my weight changes almost quarterly). Kyle explained everything I wanted to know accurately and concisely. My shoes arrived

Absolutely excellent customer service. I ordered 2 pairs of shoes online which were a bit too big. Called ahead to see if I can get fitted, they said absolutely come on in. Was helped by a gentleman named John. He did all the work, made sure I had a perfect fit, and I was out the door. Shop here for excellent customer service

Excellent shoes for men, I have a pair from the 90's that belonged to my father that look like new still. John my contact who was at brookfield place and is now in midtown is just a wonderful person, I constantly call with questions on how to maintain my shoes properly and John is always very patient and there for me every step of the way. I wish more businesses were like Allen Edmonds !

I was looking for a good quality leather shoe, made in the USA, with style and comfort, that could last a life-time. I did an extensive online search and eventually arrived at Allen Edmonds. After personally perusing the store, I found exactly what I wanted, but....the price was beyond my proposed budget. For the past 10 years I've always worn Bruno Maglis for work. However, I would throw them away when they wore down, because it's such a pain to find a cobbler in this day and age.
So I decided to make the jump to AE so I could take advantage of their well known recrafting services.
Before I get into the pros and cons, I wanted to mention the location. This AE is located in the South Coast Plaza mall. It's a very nice, high end mall, but parking and locations can be confusing. The mall is shaped like the capital letter "H", and AE is located where the horizontal line meets

Quality is priceless. I come here to have my shoes polished. I have never had them polished by anyone else, including myself. The skill, precision and end-result is...an art form. I bought the shoes in England, for a price which induced a sharp intake of breath, which hasn't left me yet, so just as well I can sit down whilst they are being polished.

I must’ve been the easiest sell ever. I already own a pair of Allen Edmonds and was coming in to buy a replacement pair. Came in, asked for the specific size, model, and color and wanted to try them on to make sure nothing had changed. The one person working in the store was so rude that I couldn’t bring myself to buy from there. She threw the shoes on the counter and wouldn’t even leave the desk. I think they’ve lost a customer. Maybe I’ll still buy their shoes from a department store with better service, but what’s the point of having a premium store selling $400 shoes with customer

If anyone looks at the trend of my reviews, I usually get poor service because I look like a peasant. With that in mind, I ventured into this store looking for a belt. My friend talked me into getting sized for their shoes and Kyle spent time zeroing in on my perfect shoe size. Ended up buying a pair of black Park Avenue's, a belt, and a shoe tree. Bought a pair of shoes on October 7th and still didn’t receive it. I was told by the “manager “ 2-3 weeks but nothing. When called to check the “manager” prefers to speak rather than listen, a completely rude service person. Worst customer service ever. Would like to review the quality of the shoes but so far is not possible.

I was very impressed by the superb customer service I received from Kyle R. That type of service is hard to come across these days. It reminds me of the days when the shoe salesmen at Nordstrom used to wear suits and would put the shoes on your feet. Now Nordys has the most trashy people working there.
Kyle was very friendly, helpful, and concerned with my fit. And lucky for me, the shoes were $100 off, which put them into the range I would be willing to pay.
They are fashionable, yet comfortable. I'm sure I will purchase shoes there in the future, mostly because of the excellent service

My advice, if you're think of buying a pair of shows at this place, is do your research on what style and color you like first. For such an expensive shoe, you don't want to make a hasty decision or be talked into a pair you're thinking twice about later on.
As most nice places, you will likely encounter being up-sold. So, do your homework first or you could wind up spending a lot on extras you originally didn't intend on (not that that's necessarily a bad thing).

This was the first time I got hand crafted shoes from Allen Edmonds, and it definitely will not be the last. I am now a lifelong fan.
Byron was very knowledgeable with the variety of styles, cuts, and fits. He helped me get into the properly sized pair of Carlyle shoes. He was very patient and accommodating while I was deciding on what I really wanted.
I definitely recommend giving this store a shot. They are very professional, knowledgeable and provide incredible service.

I love a good pair of Allen Edmonds. I've owned the Jefferson for several years now and give it 10/10. I also own a pair of Park Avenues, which are solid, but probably closer to a 6-7/10.
Recently I went and purchased the Porter Suede as a casual/dress up and love them. 10/10 in style and comfort.
The new store remodel is nice and inviting. Anyone looking to class up their wardrobe should consider shopping here

I recently had a fraudulent transaction show up on my credit card. I've had my credit card for a while and I typically shop at the same places without issue. I was going through my credit card purchase history trying to figure out where my card information could have been stolen. The most credible candidate I came up with was this Allen Edmonds store. This place in Costa Mesa is shoe-heaven (and not because of the shoes, even though they are great too). But because of the employee by the name of Kyle. I went in to ask (just ask) about the build of the Mctavish Kyle was so informative even when I called from my office that I ended up buying 2 Mctavish and I have the Bradley's & the Black Cambridge on order.
