Checked one off the bucket list today! Had an awesome time whale watching today, saw tons of whales and learned a lot. Brought our one year old baby, who was totally comfortable on the boat the whole time. Words of advice: wear sunscreen, bring a hat, and cold drinks. Parents: bring your stroller. After boarding head around to what feels like "the back" of the boat and sit in the couple of seats there. This way you are posted up near what's really the front and have some shade. Enjoy!

The sunset dinner cruise I would rate a 3. We were still docked at sunset so don't think you will be out on the water to watch it go down . The views, while we were out , were nice though. The food was really good for being massed produced. The music was good lounge music . It advertised dancing and there was maybe 2 songs that you could possibly dance to - other than the slow lounge music . I was disappointed in that as we were thinking we would get to dance .

This was such a fun experience! We did the dinner cruise and had such a good time. The food was tasty, drinks a bit watered down, but overall worth it. Not sure if they advertise this, but just know that you will be sat with another couple at your table. This wasn't an issue for us because we were sat with a very sweet couple (I appreciate that you put the honeymooners together!), just an FYI so you are aware!

My wife and did the dinner cruise. The music was great meal just ok. Drinks were watery to start.. then you had to wait in a ridiculous line to get a beer and glass a bad wine for $16 bucks. The icing was the tip at the end of the night. Everyone is provided a bill with a suggestive tip of forty bucks!!! Reality is we just got served food had to get the drinks ourselves and oh ya dancing cruise only at the end when the captain shut off the lights!!

We just completed a dinner cruise on the Maui Princess. We can't speak highly enough about all aspects of this event. EVERYONE we were in contact with treated us so well, from the time we picked up wristbands, until we departed the boat. Captain Dave is incredibly experienced and exceptionally courteous and helpful throughout our time onboard. I am sorry I didn't catch the chefs name, but the meals we had were superb. The evening was pretty good, they really needed someone to help the bartender initially to help with getting the drinks out, and not have such huge line standing next to people while they eat. The food was pretty good, the entertainment was was good. The only negative was seats at the table were horrible, they need seat cushions. I would give them a 4 out 5 rating.

Dinner cruise meal was horrible nothing was good about this meal. Drinks were too strong you can't even enjoy it. Mahi mahi was so over cooked it was mushy and the white cream sauce on top was terrible and flavorless. Cheesecake was mushy as well. Not a great experience at all and not worth it.
Music was so boring and just sentimental music nothing lively whatsoever. I felt like falling asleep on the cruise. If you like slow motion and are 60 years old this is the cruise for you.

We ended our vacation with a sunset dinner cruise. Honestly; I had read a couple negative reviews and was slightly concerned. I am so glad we went! It was a lovely dinner cruise. Our party of 6 each enjoyed dinner so very much! The prime rib was wonderful, the mahi mahi was delicious and the roasted chicken was moist and flavorful. We will absolutely be back next time we vacation in Maui. Our original cruise was rescheduled due to inclement weather. When we arrived our names were misplaced. We had read the reviews and knew we needed to have low expectations however it was even worse than we expected. I didn't expect a great meal however for 150 per person to have basically inedible food is unacceptable. They would do better if they just cut the food out completely. The singer was great and we were lucky that the couple we sat with were great, however with Covid still rampant it would have been nice to know we would be dinning with strangers. My husband and I took the Princess dinner and dance cruise tonight (8/7/21) and I immediately had to come back to our hotel and write a Yelp review.
There are some important things I think people should know before they book:
1) We booked this cruise several months ago. The reservation included 3 free drinks on board. Once we got on board, they said it was now only 2 drinks because they just changed their policy. That's fine, but we paid for a dinner cruise with 3 free drinks. They should honor what people paid for or refund them a bit of the money. That's the right thing to do.

False advertising at its finest..We did the Sunset dinner cruise as part of our honeymoon and it fell very short of our expectations. For how much we paid, I would say this experience was not worth it. I remember looking at the website and it looked like a luxury boat with a dance floor and your own table. We were seated across from two strangers (so not romantic) in the middle of the boat. When it came to dancing there was only one opportunity to dance with your partner but it was so cramped that we didn't even feel comfortable standing up. Review based on Maui Princess sunset dinner cruise 5-20-21. Overall good but not great. Captain Dave apparently drove this boat to Maui from New Orleans 25yrs ago. It's seen better days and his welcome comments were of a different generation and time too.
The singer Joette was a great cover singer with some keyboard and ukulele action too. Unfortunately her hetero-gender normative comments were exclusionary. This is 2 nights in a row my hubby and I have experienced this. Last night at Maui's "finest" luau at Sugar Beach. It's really not that difficult to be inclusive

This evaluation is for customer service as our tour was canceled without prior notification and so after waiting on the dock for half an hour we called to be greeted by an answering service who gave us the runaround then transferred us to Hawaii Ocean Project who were not particularly helpful but said they're not doing whale tours until February, apologized for not notifying us our tour was cancelled and ultimately got a refund through Get Your Guide (and will obviously not book with this organization again). We found another outfit to go on a whale watch with and saw several groups of Humpbacks

I really wish I could've written a better review. I'm not sure if this review should be under Lahaina Boat Company. We went on a family snorkeling dolphin tour to Lanai in February. This was the first time our kids were snorkeling so 1 was excited and other less so. Anyhow, my husband and I've been to a number of snorkeling trips before we had kids (few where I felt sick). Three's a lot of whale watching tours on Maui, I've done most of them over the years. But, we could tell that these people really care about the whales, not just the $$ money. Ryan is a super captain, with a great sense of humor. On our trip, we saw see lots of whales and a few babies, 2020's been a busy whale season. But, you not feel like you are not too close and disturbing them, like some other tours I've been on. I highly recommend Hawaii Ocean Project.

The crew was really super. Great safety briefings, very knowledgeable about the island and the things we would be seeing. Super helpful getting in and out of the water. Handling snorkeling equipment for us etc. They even helped us swim with our baby by supplying us with an infant life jacket. We had called the night before and were told they didn't have infant vests so we rented one which ended up being too big.
