Lewis General Tires is a locally owned and operated automotive service center founded in 1919. We are the oldest General Tire dealer in the world and have been at our 3870 West Henrietta Rd. location in Rochester, NY for the last 44 years.
After working at Hood Tire, Leon Lewis Sr. founded Lewis General Tires in 1919 when he established a General Tire franchise at 260 East Avenue. In order to survive the Great Depression, Leon took on 2 partners including a competitor across the street. Post WWII, Leon bought out his partners, intending to pass his company on to one or more of his sons: Leon Jr., Alan, and Richard Sr.

All the folks are awesome!! From the front desk welcome to the folks on the garage. Every one is very genuine, and fairly priced for the amount of work and the things they do above what is expected. My vehicles have always been done in a timely if not faster time frame. They are extremely knowledgeable of all things vehicle related.
I always recommend lewis general tire to any one. Weather it's just an oil change or full on transmission work to replacing an entire engine,these folks know thier stuff!!
They make you feel welcome and comfortable even if ya don't know much about cars.

My family has been coming here for years and loves this place. The workers are so kind and give great service. I moved to MA but still always get my car tires changed here when I come home. Recently, I came home with short notice and they were able to take off my winter tires before I had to leave. I also have gotten my car fixed here and I feel safe having them so the job.

Drove by this place for years, never went. One day, saw great reviews on tire buyer, so I sent my tires here. First class experience, from making an appointment, to checking in, and getting service. In general, you have to be really really careful not to get ripped off by tire, muffler and brakes places around town. This place has been around for 100 years, one of the first General Tire dealers. The reviews are not wrong. I will probably come back for shocks soon, a great complement to dealer serice. They work on trucks, so theyre pros and dont need to nickel and dime you. Calm and well

In the time that I have had my car(over 7 years) I have been to several different tire service centers including Dunn tire, Mavis and Goodyear before I finally decided to try Lewis General tire. I learned the expensive way I should have gone to them first.
Mavis used to be my go-to tire center but after saving about $60 switching to Lewis General tire for the exact same four tires was quite a nice surprise.
Now when it comes service they were super quick (I was in and out in under 30 minutes)and the staff was really polite. If you haven't been there I would highly recommend you give them

I'm a woman. A typical woman who doesn't give much thought to her car, except that when I turn the key...it better start! My parents had gone to Lewis General for years and had spoken highly of Louie, the manager and front desk manager, so I figured I could trust them.
I purchased a four year-old Honda Accord from John Holtz. It was a leased vehicle prior to my ownership. That poor car must been ill treated because I was taking it to Lewis' regularly and frequently spending over $1000 each visit.
