Leatherstocking Credit Union, established in 1977 is a not-for-profit financial cooperative located in Cooperstown, NY, the home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Originally formed to serve the employees of Bassett Hospital, our current field of membership includes anyone who lives or works in Otsego County.

E-mailing LCU is not secure unless doing so through our OnLine Banking site under the "Services" tab and selecting "Secure Mailbox." Otherwise, please do not include personal information when e-mailing info@mylcu.org. The Supervisory Committee at Leatherstocking Credit Union has the primary responsibility to determine that the Credit Union is soundly managed and that members' assets are safeguarded.

Reimbursement of Credit Union closing costs is required if the loan is paid off and discharged within the first 36 months. Double-wide manufactured home financing. Two months of the most recent bank statements, for non LCU accounts, for savings, checking, and investment accounts (including retirement accounts) not held at LCU. Fiscal responsibility is something everyone should learn. With the Student VISA Credit Card, your young adult can experience using a credit card with benefits & features for those still learning. You must be at least 18 years of age, have a qualified co-signer and be eligible for membership. The rates quoted here are indications only; all rates are subject to change without notice.
In order to become a member, you must live or work in Otsego County, and you are required to open a Savings account with a minimum balance of $5 and a $1 lifetime membership fee. Once you have become a member, you will be able to take advantage of all the products and services we offer. Designed to keep pace with current market rates without the restrictions of a term share certificate account.
