Docksiders Gymnastics
Gymnastics is a terrific sport for all children. It teaches them body awareness, balance and other physical skills that aid in their overall physical development. Our class program is designed to be a fun, safe experience for your child. Congrats to our gymnasts who have won State, Regional, or National Championships this season!

Docksiders has a very strong competitive team program for both boys and girls. We currently have over 110 girls and boys on our teams. Docksiders gymnasts have won numerous state, regional, and national championships. Many of our alumnae have gone on to receive college scholarships at schools such as NC State, Florida and West Virginia.

The team name, Castaways, was suggested by Linda Petrone. 1975-1976 - The team name changed to Parkettes South. Gary had an association with Bill and Donna Strauss, owners of the Parkettes in Allentown, PA. Parkettes is a very well known team and Gary felt it would help the team's image to be associated with them.
Xcel is an additional competitive program that we are excited to have to Docksiders. The mission of the program is "To provide gymnasts with an opportunity to compete at their highest level of achievement, in an atmosphere of friendship and fun".

The program offers gentler guidelines than the USAG Junior Olympic program and allows gymnasts to compete on individual events if they desire rather than as an All Arounder, though the All Around option is available as well. The level is much less intense and therefore the training requirements are not as strict.
Our competitive boys team is an opportunity for those young men who wish to enter into competitive gymnastics. They also compete in the Junior Olympic Program, competing at Docksiders from Level 4 through Level 10. Our boys team has had success at the highest levels of gymnastics, including qualifiers to J.O. Nationals and former gymnasts going on to compete in the NCAA.

Where to begin? Signed up 2 of my girls for a week long summer camp. They required a $110 Family Registration fee of on top of the $590 camp fee. One of the instructors TRIED TO PULL OUT MY 7 YEAR OLD'S TOOTH. She apparently cleaned her hands first (eye roll..we are in the midst of COVID) and attempted to pull my kids tooth. WHY???
My good friend took them every day and this same instructor questioned my 7 year old about her family dynamics while she was in the bathroom. Are your parents divorced? How many sisters do you have?
**I have to give the owner credit. He was very responsive and handled

My daughter has been going to Docksiders for 3 years and we absolutely love it! We started with Mrs. Lisa and she is fantastic! She truly LOVES these kids and it shines through when she teaches them. My son also went for a year, in the beginning he was shy and would get upset being separated from me. Mrs. Lisa helped us and worked through this stage with us and was really caring toward him. My daughter has also had Mrs. Cheree, Mrs. Kayla, and Mrs. Megan. LOVE THEM ALL! Can't go wrong with this gym for your child!

I started bringing my daughter to the Docksiders tadpoles (mommy and me) program in the fall of 2015. We were looking for something that would give her more exposure to kids her age and provide her with some fun physical play time. From the beginning, our expectations have been exceeded. She always looks forward to going to class (she wants her leotard on from the time she wakes up on her gymnastics mornings). Mrs. Lisa is wonderful with all of the kids - encouraging and supportive of their efforts, even on those tough toddler days. My daughter goes crazy when she sees the teachers enter the gym

We moved here three years ago and my daughter had been doing recreational gymnastics for two years. At Docksiders Ms. Lisa was her first teacher and saw potential in her. She was moved to an invitation only class taught by Ms. Lisa and Ms. Cheree. I was thrilled to see my daughters skills improve, but more importantly her love for the sport and her coaches. This gym does a great job at balancing the important aspects of teaching discipline, dedication and perseverance, (essential to success in this sport) all while laughing and having fun. After 3 years here, my daughter is now a member of girls

I have been taking my daughter to Docksiders for 4 years. She began in the mommy and me class and we have been hooked ever since! Ms. Lisa was her first teacher, and I truly believe she is the reason Gabi fell in love with gymnastics. When my daughter was three and a half she was given the opportunity to move to an invitation only class taught by Cheree and Lisa. I was astonished at the level of training, discipline, and care that these young girls were given. Gymnastics became something that my daughter wanted to do daily! Four years later, she has been blessed with the opportunity to work with

A friend and I attended adult open gym yesterday and were extremely impressed by the facility and coach there. We both are "crossfitters" and have no gymnastics background so we were seeking help with learning handstands, handstand walks, and muscle-ups (ring and bar). The coach there was extremely helpful and even gave some suggested "homework" to work on during the week. We will definitely be back to adult open gym and highly recommend this place!

Docksiders Gymnastics is one of the best gymnastics programs you will find in this area! Not only did I start my gymnastics career there in the Mommy and Me classes with Mrs. Lisa but I was able to compete as a gymnast for 18 years at Docksiders and receive a scholarship to a Division 1 college to compete for my University. I also had the opportunity to go back and work as a coach and pass on my gymnastics knowledge to the children in the class programs. My experience and review for their program deserves nothing short of all 5 stars!

We've been coming to Docksiders since my daughter was one and a half and in the Mommy and Me class and my son was in the Pre-School class. They loved those classes and asked each day if it was "Gymnastics Day." My daughter has progressed on to an invitation-only class for the last two years. She has so much love for the sport and loves coming to class. We've had great experiences with all of the teachers we've had (Ms. Theresa, Ms. Haley, Ms. ChereƩ, Ms. Kayla, and Ms. Lisa). My daughter is very outgoing and talkative and all of the teachers (past and present) take the time to listen to her in
