MGA Gymnastics Bowie
MGA is a fantastic family gymnastics center in Central Maryland. Gymnastics, cheerleading and tumbling classes are available for children of all ages, as well as gymnastics and fitness for adults. MGA Gymnastics began in Washington DC in 1964. We are a third generation business that has been serving the DC Metro community for over 50 years.

Our center in Washington DC was founded by Carolyn and Jerry Shrewsbury. The center began as just a small tumbling program and grew into a 15,000 Square foot gymnastics center with gymnastics, tumbling and dance just a few short years later in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Carolyn and Jerry Shrewsbury trained many national level gymnasts and sent many students to college with scholarships over the years.
Services
The Preschool Gymnastics Program is an early gymnastics program for ages 2-3 boys and girls. We teach coordination, skill development, listening and following directions and developmental skills like skipping, hopping, jumping and climbing. Boys and girls work together in class on smaller equipment with the teacher and parent if the parent wishes to participate.
The Xcel Program is a gymnastics program of beginning to advanced level gymnastics for girls. Girls work on the four Olympic gymnastics events - uneven bars, balance beam, floor, and vault. The Xcel program is an avenue for all children to compete at all levels of gymnastics. At MGA We have implemented this program so that all of students have the chance to excel and reach their own individual goals.
The Trampoline and Tumbling program of Beginning, Intermediate and Advance levels of of gymnastics for everyone. This program is offered to all student, cheer groups and school groups. We have a no recruitment policy so that all students from all gyms, groups etc may feel safe learning in our facility.
A child's progression is determined by their own pace, handing them the tools to shape their own experience. By letting children advance individually, within a defined and collaborative program, children of all ages and genders receive more than athletic skills, they develop confidence, coordination and strength.
At MGA, we offer a variety of fun and challenging activities for boys and girls of all ages. From trampolines, to gymnastics equipment and in-ground foam pits, to our one-of-a-kind Ninja Squad obstacle course - your child will have a blast on their special day! If your instructor does a wonderful job over and beyond your expectations please feel free to tip them more, they do apprecaite it.

The most absolutely bootleg gymnastics experience you could imagine - Bowie deserves better! Our daughter is currently in a class here. The instructors are very young - which would not be a problem if they had ANY plan for the classes at all. But, they don't. Mostly they wander around and spontaneously decide what to do next (bend over, jump on trampoline, etc). In between exercises the kids are just sitting around with nothing to do. There's no theory, no logic, no progression. As I'm typing this my 3 year old is for some reason doing squats against a wall . I mean, I promise you

We recently have started selling my apparel products to MGA. Great business to work with! I have heard great things about this gym and the classes they offer. It is wonderful to find gyms that truly mentor and create a sense of community.

My daughter absolutely loves it here. We recently moved and didn’t know how the transition would be from one gym to the other, but could not be happier. She adores the coaches and has met so many friends. We would recommend to anyone.

My girls absolutely loved MGA (as we did as parents). The coaches were excellent and were very careful to prevent any injuries. They have an open door policy where parents are welcomed to stay and watch. The only reason we left was because they did not have a competitive gymnastics program. If they were to get one started again we would definitely go back!

A friendly, family run facility that has made my child's transition from years spent at another gymnastics center less stressful and inspired a new found level of excitement in the fundamentals and joy of gymnastics.

My youngest has attended tumbling classes here in the past and I'm happy with the skills she learned. I sent my middle schooler and elementary age children here for summer camp. They both absolutely love it! My oldest is in tumbling camp and the youngest is in gymnastics camp. The price was extremely reasonable, as I took advantage of an early bird special. This was their first year at this camp and I was apprehensive because I am accustomed to the robust orientation and registration processes at other summer camps. There wasn't much pre-camp orientation or preparation, but things are
