When you have the opportunity to wake up in the morning and experience the sun coming up from behind the mountains in the east and look forward to seeing the evening sun setting behind the mountains to your west, Fred knew he wanted that to be a permanent part in his life.

We knew the" Sugar Shack Chalet", formally Sugar Tree, was the perfect chalet as soon as we walked out on the deck. You see, Fred had three requests; log, a stone fireplace and a great view! Enjoy the panoramic mountain views of all the seasons at Sugar Shack Chalet. The views are the best in all The Smoky Mountains and the fall colors are brilliant!
I can't say enough about this cabin. Its on the mountain with AMAZING views. It was immaculate when we got there. I loved the lil notes around that will help you if you don't know how to do things like start a fire or turn on the jacuzzi. We will make this a yearly traditional trip for our family. I can't wait to go back.

We had 16 adults and 2 babies. We rented On the Rock. We enjoyed our time tighter, but it would have been much more fun in a different cabin. Our cabin was not clean. The furniture is so old that a micro fiber sofa and love seat, so dirty from years of use, looks like leather. The chairs are also filthy and worn. The main ceiling fan couldn’t be used because of the THICK LAYER OF DUST it is covered with. The temperature is hard to regulate in the house. The rugs didn’t appear to be vacuumed. The DVD players didn’t work. The “equipped “ kitchen was very poorly equipped.

Made reservations back in October for Christmas. We are a military family coming home from overseas for the holidays and we spent quite a good amount of money to get home. Here we are just 3 weeks out from Christmas and our trip and they called and cancelled because they sold that property that our rental was on. They could have told us they were planning to sell and we would have booked elsewhere! Now we can’t find another place last minute so we have no place to stay, and we still have not received the refund in our account (it’s been 4 days since the call). Extremely angered and disappointed

Lovely location and the cabin is gorgeous. Unfortunately there is a work crew here who yells and sings and SCREAMS for no reason at all hours of the morning. They are building something and are INCREDIBLY loud and inconsiderate. We came here for peace and quiet and EVERY morning has been interrupted by their screaming. I understand that they can’t help the thumping and banging. But they CAN do something about the incessant screaming and singing. I mean this is ridiculous. We’ve also seen them carelessly throw nails onto the ground with no consideration for anyone else in the area. Incredibly
