Dr. Efren Gomez has been practicing optometry since 2010. He specializes in full optometric care including comprehensive eye exams, diagnosing eye diseases, and fitting contact lenses, including specialty lenses. Dr. Gomez is a Vision Source provider, a member of the the Lions Club of Whiting and is proficient in English and Spanish.

I felt the care and examination process was efficient and very professional! I have diabetes, so I must rely on my Optometrist to help me keep my eyesight from being damaged by diabetes. Dr. Gomez took extreme care in examining my eyes for any sign of diabetic disease or damage. His precision instruments and professional knowledge reassured me my eyes were in good shape. If you suffer from diabetes, you want assurance from your Optometrist your eyes are ok. It is this attention to my diabetic condition that will keep me going back to Dr. Gomez

I had such a great experience at Gomez Family Eye Care. The staff was wonderful, professional and truly caring for your needs. First of all. I miss Dr Hoffman and wish he cld have been cloned. Having said that, Dr Gomez, Rita and staff do a very good job. Dr Gomez puts you at ease, is thorough, and takes plenty of time to explain things and answer your questions. Rita is phenomenal in helping you find just the right glasses and has the patience of Job, never rushing you. I drive all the way from Valpo to visit this office, and they are worth the trip!

This was my first time at Gomez Family Eye Care. I was highly impressed! The girls at the front desk are so sweet and very helpful. Then I met Dr. Gomez. He was a very nice doctor! I absolutely love Gomez FAMILY eye care. Emphasis and the word family in their name, because everyone there is so totally nice and caring that you literally feel like your with family! Dr Gomez and his staff are the nicest people I have met in a setting that I usually dread. Everyone explained everything to my understanding answered all my questions did not make me feel rushed and I was asked questions that no one ever asked me before and I didn’t feel rushed like other places I’ve been.
