Services
I started piercing in Tucson, Arizona back in 1993 and ultimately did my first tattoo 1/2/2002. Although I consider myself well rounded as an artist and able to tackle wild and elaborate projects (but will happily do a smaller piece for you), my favorite art genres are photorealism, trash polka, floral and fauna, wild color blasts, and the macabre.
Under the wise guidance of Rio DeGennaro she earned her Oregon license in 2004. Soon afterward she began working at Skin City in Tigard, Oregon. Around 2008 she made the move north to Lunatic where she has been creating custom skin art ever since. She primarily works in realism and her favorite tattoo subjects are nature inspired scenes, animal portraits, landscapes, flowers and bugs, in either color or black and gray.
These aftercare suggestions are based on years of professional experience, common sense, worldwide research, and extensive clinical practice. This is not to be considered a substitute for medical advice from a doctor. What we suggest you do, is how we heal our tattoos. A new tattoo is an open wound and is the most vulnerable to infection during the first few days.
Emailing your artist with a detailed description of your ideas is the best way to get started. Try to include size, location, and any reference pictures that you may have of tattoo styles that you like (and even don't like). Pics of the area that you'd like to have tattooed can also be helpful. These sorts of pics are best taken by someone else from a few feet away while you stand normally.
Gift Certificates are available in common denominations starting at $20. Our minimum charge for tattooing is $100 and our typical hourly rate ranges between $150-$180/hour, depending on artist. Available in person at Lunatic Tattoo (as we're currently by appointment only, hours may vary) or contact us via e-mail and we can accept payment through a secure invoice and mail your certificate to you via certified mail (+$5 dollar processing fee).

Danielle is phenomenal! She has done two designs and tattoos for me now. Both times, she has listened to my vision and executed the design with thoughtful additions/details. I am elated with both!! They have intimate detailing, coloring, and shading. They are better than I even imagined. As a staff, they are welcoming, friendly, and professional. I have referred multiple people to set up appointments with Lunatic now. I would highly recommend anyone to go to Lunatic, you will be really happy.

Recommend this tattoo business to the fullest. Great atmosphere and everybody was friendly. Leif did an amazing job with listening to my ideas for adding to my existing tat and stirred me in the right direction w/ implementing his expertise, the result is better than what I had imagined, he has a true artistic gift to detail. Not only did Leif offer me snacks! He was also super attentive to what I wanted, he made me feel super comfortable, and he did way more than exceed the expectations of what I wanted. The photos he posts don’t do enough justice for how amazing he is! His shop is also super mf clean 💎💎, and he had an amazing attitude with me the entire time, I seriously think I found my go-to tattoo artist 💎 PERFECTION!!! I couldn’t be happier ❤️

After 8 tattoos and 5 different artists, I can say with certainty that Leif at Lunatic Tattoo is the cream of the crop! His massive artistic and technical ability speaks for itself as you look at his body of work but his willingness to listen and adapt and make you feel heard all while taking your vision to a whole other level makes him even more rare and valuable. His long wait times for an appointment are testament to his quality but is well worth the wait in my opinion. Look no further if you are seeking the very best tattoo place around. My son wanted a tattoo for his 18th birthday, and I did a little poll on Facebook to see who my friends would recommend. Lunatic Tattoo was the top recommendation. My son and I met with Danielle about a month before the appointment and she was WONDERFUL. So thorough! She showed him pictures of the aging process with tattoos, explained skin as an organ and how his tattoo could change with time, etc. My son really liked her and that was very important! I'm not surprised to see that this shop has a five star rating. Recommended by someone I trust and with reasonable expectations I contacted Leif via email with a very difficult cover up. He returned my email that night and set me up quickly with my consultation. Being a sought after artist there was a couple month wait to get my tattoo as it was a few hour venture. He had a cancellation and even offered to get me in a couple weeks early! Even with limited tattoo experience I know any artist who is booked 3 months out is worth the wait and I was absolutely right!

Lunatic is not only an amazing tattoo parlor but the staff makes u feel like part of the family,unlike other shops in vancouver where the "cooler than u are"artists make u feel like you are lucky to even be in the same room as them.Leif and john have a way of visualizing what u want and making a reality.i have lots of work from other shops and I now only get my work at lunatic and my 8 yr old son loves the free temporary tattoos Leif provides for the future ink freaks,.......
