Dr. Farrell has over 38 years of experience working in the fields of mental and behavioral health, substance abuse and addictions, physical and medical rehabilitation, industrial and vocational rehabilitation, and complementary and alternative therapies. In addition, she has worked as a university educator for over 16 years, teaching graduate courses in clinical mental health counseling and psychosocial occupational therapy.
She established her private counseling practice in 2011. The word "recourse" is defined as "a source of help in a difficult situation." During it's first business iteration, the business acronym "RECOARSE" stood for "Recovery-Oriented Assessment & Rehabilitation Services for Employment". In 2016, the company evolved from a "services provided on location" business venture to a "brick and mortar" private counseling practice.

Individual, couples, family, and group counseling provided both in-office and over teletherapy. EMDR - Eye-Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing for treatment of individuals with PTSD, trauma, grief, anxiety, or other stress-related conditions. Mindfulness practices to promote a mind-body connection and regulation of the autonomic nervous system.
Auriculotherapy (Acudetox) National Acupuncture Detoxification Associations's NADA Protocol for de-stressing, de-toxing, and recovering from substance use disorders, trauma, stress, and other behavioral health conditions. Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist (ADS) trainings provided both on-site or off-site by NADA Registered Trainer/s.
Clinical Mental Health Counseling & Traditional Psychotherapy Services for individuals, couples, families, and groups are typically covered by personal health insurance benefits but can also be paid for privately using personal funds. Integrative Therapeutic Services are scheduled separately and are considered adjunctive to counseling appointments and are not covered by health insurance benefits.
