Adjustable gastric banding helps you lose weight by making you feel full sooner. In this laparoscopic procedure, an inflatable silicone band is placed around the uppermost part of the stomach, dividing it into two parts: a small upper pouch and a lower stomach. The upper pouch can hold only about 2 ounces of food, limiting the amount of food you are able to eat at one time, and as a result, making you feel full sooner and satisfied longer.

Gastric bypass uses both a restrictive and a malabsorptive surgery technique. It restricts food intake and the amount of calories and nutrients the body absorbs. In addition to creating a small stomach pouch, the surgery changes the body's normal digestive process. As a result, food bypasses a large part of the stomach and most of the small intestine.

Behavior counseling, provided by a registered professional who manages each patient's emotional needs, and helps them through the difficult times.

I was so happy with my experience with this office until I discovered I’m allergic to their pre op diet foods. $250 wasted because they absolutely refuse even partial refunds, even due to medical reasons, even if they’re unopen. I was told that it’s my fault because I’m the one with the allergy but I don’t know how I’m supposed to know how something will affect me if I’ve never consumed it. It was suggested that I sell the products myself online. Now I have to go out and buy alternatives for all of these products while trying to sell the ones I can’t consume. I wish they’d offered

7 days post surgery and this is the best health decision I have ever made! If you are undecided let me encourage you to see Doctor Heider and his team to rescue you from your personal health battle. Attend the meetings for pre and post surgical education and to plan your personal health victory. I can not say enough good things about this practice. On a scale of 1-10 they and Lake Norman Regional Medical Center have scored 12 for my experience. I am very grateful.
