New Horizon Karate & More opened in West Boylston, MA in the summer of 1986. We offer Karate & JuJitsu Programs in a group or private setting.

Services
This program focuses on proper techniques for blocking, punching, kicking, and throwing while having fun. Our different age groupings allows us to teach age-appropriate material. Safety is always the most important aspect. Instruction focuses on the self-defense aspects of the martial arts in general.

New Horizon Karate & More offers a specially designed program for children with Autism, ADD & ADHD called The Martial Arts Movement Program. This class combine self-defense, fitness, and coordination with social development into each class. The martial arts use the entire body to do the moves. All material is age and class specific, and taught in a non-aggressive manner.

My 5-year-old son has been attending classes at New Horizon for a couple of months now, and he loves it! Jim is wonderful with the kids, focusing on self-sufficiency and respect in addition to the physical training of karate. He sends out newsletters and updates on progress regularly. The schedule is great and there are classes every day of the week. It's been a great experience for us as parents and also for our son!

I went to New Horizon Karate while in college for Jujitsu and absolutely loved it. The teaching style and environment is very comfortable and effective, and even at that time I noticed how amazing Jim is with the younger students. Now that I am a parent, I am happy to be sending my son there and he just loves it. It has helped reduce his anxiety during the pandemic, provided him with a means of healthy exercise/activity, and is constructively building his confidence. I also appreciate the compliance with pandemic precautions and the dojo is always kept very clean. I highly recommend New Horizon

My 2 daughters have taken classes at New Horizon Karate and More for 15 years. The instructors are excellent and truly care about their students. They are professional and extremely patient. Both my daughters earned the rank of 2nd Degree Black Belt. They were able to build their confidence, have a lot of fun and learn self defense all at the same time. We love Jim and all the members of New Horizon Karate. Both my son, 4, and my daughter, 6, go multiple times a week. They enjoy every minute and can’t wait to go back the next day. New Horizon Karate is a family oriented. My daughter and son who has asperger attended few years back and they learn discipline and respect. New Horizon Karate is a great place with highly trained professionals that like what they do and have the lots of knowledge in martial arts and patience teaching children with special needs at an reasonable price. Long time student. I have seen many, many people learn practical top quality self defense as well as improve themselves and grow as a person. The autism program is top notch. We have many black belts and the majority of them are women, and all of our black belts earned them here. You'll be doing yourself a huge favor by joining us.

My son has been attending New Horizons for over 6 months and loves it. He attends 3 days a week, his behavior has improved at home and school. New Horizon Karate has a great youth program with experienced and effective instructors! My daughter struggles with impulsivity during group activities and has been able to succeed in the karate program here. She is always excited to show me her learned and improved karate moves and is eager to do well in this program! The instructors exercise a lot of patience and positive reinforcement but are also firm in emphasizing karate technique, safety, self-control and respect! I highly recommend New Horizon Karate!

My granddaughter has been attending classes at New Horizon for about 6 months and absolutely loves it. Master Soke is wonderful with the kids no matter their skill. His technique in teaching all levels of students coupled with his constant and consistent encouragement has given my granddaughter a greater sense of self awareness, increased her pride and self esteem. NH also has programs for autistic children and children with ADHD which are great as the classes are more individualized. I highly recommend New Horizon Karate.

I am so incredibly happy with my decision to sign my kids up at New horizon! We have been going here now for over a year and my daughter has advanced leaps and bounds. Mr. Alty is absolutely phenomenal with the children. He has so my patience with them but has a strict lesson plan of learning. I know I made the right choice in choosing New horizon karate! My kids have so much self confidence and discipline from karate and I am so proud of what they are learning! They also do awesome birthday party's that are way cheaper then anywhere else! We can't wait to have a birthday party here!

LOVE this place! My daughter is in her second year of classes here, and I have not one complaint about the entire experience. Reasonable rates, fantastic service! Shihan Alty is amazing with the children, and they all adore him. There is a great balance of fun and serious business, and the communication is excellent. Taking classes here has boosted my child's confidence 10 fold. Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful! I would (and do!) recommend to anyone and everyone!
