The alternator turns when the motor is running. It creates power and sends that power to charge your battery and run the on board electronics of your car or truck. If the battery is starting to die on you consistently, this could be the issue. We can tell you if your battery is dead or if you need an alternator just by checking it.

I'm not from Atlanta and I lost a serpentine belt at the start of an eight hour drive. I made it in to Apollon purely because they were the closest place and they dropped what they were doing to help me out and get a new belt installed in under an hour. Great people.

I have used this business since 1970s and all work ever performed on all my cars has been exceptional. When i first came to Atlanta, i purchased a used car, Plymouth Duster 1970 but i purchased it in 1973. They kept the car ,i like the car it had a slant 6 engine and the car already had 50,000 miles when i purchased it when graduating from college. Then the next cars that i have had through the years, new one, i have actually only taken these back to the dealership initially but i have used Apollon for all the work. I’ve been to this place twice now and in fairness the 1st time I received a fairly priced and quickly done work so I can’t in fairness leave a 1 star review. On a Monday I left the same car their far a new issue. I didn’t recieve any communion on a diagnostic or anything until I called back that Thursday for a follow up and they apparently didn’t take any notes cause they had to ask me what was wrong. I went yesterday evening to ask if I could bring my car in today for a broken sensor. The woman said fine, come in the morning. I did this morning, dropped it off. There was only one guy in the place working. He said they’d go get the part and it would be ready around 4. I never got a call back.I tried to call the number on the website a bunch if times with no response and a full mailbox. I went up around five, still just the one guy there. I appreciate the their quick answer of a phone call to tell me that they could look at my car. But I don't appreciate my car sitting there for five days and not even getting looked at. They probably do good work but it cost me alot and Ubers to get around for a week and had nobody even look at the car. Had to send it to a different shop who had it done in 6 hours same day

My family has brought some cars to get fixed at this location. NEVER COMING BACK!! ONE OF THE GUYS LEFT IN CHARGE WAS SO UNPROFESSIONAL AND DID NOT WANT US TO PAY IN CARD JUST BECAUSE HE SIMPLY COULD NOT WORK HIS CARD MACHINE. HE USED PROFANITY WHILE SPEAKING WITH MY MOM . WAY TO OVER PRICED. I THINK THEY SHOULD RE CONSIDER WHO THEY LEAVE IN CHARGE WHEN THE OWNER IS GONE. Dropped off car and told them what probable belt noise issue was , they did $850 of unnecessary work before replacing what I had told them about.
No one wearing masks or gloves , got car back w/ interior covered in grease & dirt. No seat or mat protection used , made them try to clean before accepting but still had to have upholstery cleaned.
Very non-professional operation.

They had my car for two days claimed that they had fixed it and when I got there my bumper came right off in my hand. Charged me $50 for a service they did not ask me to do nor did I approve. Mentioned I should come back next week because they were too busy to do it. Front office woman Kk said she didn't even know my car was in the parking lot until today... despite me having spoken to her on the phone three or four times. Could never get anyone to call me back with an estimate or what they were planning to do repair wise and somehow they still charged me money? This is a Shiesty business

Was on my way to work and caught a flat, this was the nearest auto repair shop to me and if not best one I've been too! The service was great, the owner Kostas was very helpful and offered to have one of his workers Victor who provided excellent and efficient service in getting my tire in top shape. Didn't even have to buy a new tire or change my flat. These guys and this place went above and beyond to help me out. And the best part is, they did it for free! What a true blessing. I have had nothing but good experience here with my truck and my BMW. They take care of me and I'm picky. I prefer to drop off my vehicles. He has the right tools to work on my nice car and the experience to do the job right. I also had a tranny put in my Izusu truck here. When they finished it was purring like a kitten. I had choices and elected to purchas a 3 year warranty. Grateful and thankful i have had good experiences at this shop.

I am so disappointed. My family has been trusting Apollon and George and Tassos for 30 years. Very recently, something has changed. I had my alternator die, and when it was towed in, I told them it was the alternator. They called me a couple days later saying they'd changed the battery and everything was fine. I patiently explained the battery was less than a month old, and I needed them to check the alternator. They were skeptical. But they checked, and sure enough, my alternator was dead. So they replaced it, and then had the nerve to charge me for a battery and an alternator to the tune

I destroyed my car by putting diesel gas in my tank and a lady who saw me recommended Apollon Auto Repair. BEST DECISION I COULD HAVE MADE,they were incredible. They worked after hours and were extremely EFFICIENT. Every mechanic was knowledgeable and Kostas made his customers feel important. I never leave reviews but this shop needs recognition. My dad has been taking all of our family cars here for years. Ever since I've had my own car and started bringing mine to get serviced, they've treated me the exact same. They're always spot on when it comes to pin pointing a problem with my vehicle and with their recommendations! They best part is i can trust them with no worries. Had to replace my brake fluid line. Price was good, but waited there for 6.5 hours. The receptionist tells me every couple of hours that it would be another couple of hours. I think if they would have been honest with the wait time and not waste my entire day there I would be satisfied. Hopefully the replacement will last it's proper lifetime.

This repair shop was recommended by a good friend. I took my car to them because the engine light was on. They replaced four parts and charged me 440 dollars. I picked up the car and the check engine light came on again. I took the car back and was told that they would pay for the part and I would only have to pay for the labor. I first encountered Apollon in 1983. I needed a major engine repair and basically picked them because their original location on Clairmont was near my residence. I have used them exclusively for my automotive service ever since.
That first experience and every other one over the past three decades have been characterized by the honesty, concern, competence, and affordability consistently delivered by the shop. The bad reviews listed here at Yelp I think are a bit off, as I've been taking my 3 vehicles to George and Tassos for more than 5 years and never, ever have I had a problem with getting at repairs completed economically and correctly the first time.
I have had brake work, transmission, cooling, AC, general maintenence and have always been satidfied with the quality of the work done. I had the unfortunate need for a towing company last weekend and called these guys at 6pm on a Saturday. They were reasonably priced ($65 hookup fee + $2/mile) and somewhat prompt (time crawls when you're waiting by the side of a highway). Jim, the guy they sent me, was friendly, helpful, and careful with my car, which I appreciated.

I took my Audi here when my alternator broke at a very financially inconvenient time for me. These guys are great! I normally would not even review a car repair place, but these are genuinely good people and they deserve the best of luck with their business.
Generally, Audi repairs are very pricey. I called around several places to get a feel for the price to replace an alternator for my car (as well as replace my $100 battery which the alternator took with it when it died), and not only did Apollon have the lowest price ($425), but they were such warm, happy people.
