Olympic Bakery was established by Neil Freitas - a born-and-bred Seattleite and a long-time baker who at the turn of the century fell in love with Mason County and decided to establish in this beautiful location in the outskirts of Shelton, a stone's throw away from Spencer Lake. Four years ago, Neil fell in love again, this time in a woman who came from far far away, as a fairy tale story comes true.

My wife is an exquisite amateur baker. She bakes amazing breads, rolls, and cakes. When I write amateur, I really mean that she spends time and effort in selecting her flours, weighing them, mixing them carefully. She selects the right yeast and grows her own sourdough. The sourdough is fifteen years old, and is developing a personality, and an attitude. When she proofs dough, be it yeast or sourdough, the house fills with the amazing smell of "something good will be coming out of the oven later today". When the oven finally opens, it takes restraints to not bite into the bread or cake when it

I've stopped in here a couple times and they have a really good selection of baked goods.
My favorite has to be their crunchy cinnamon bread pancake thing, that's not the official name of it, but that's basically what it is. It's really good and not that expensive.
They have a ton of other really delicious looking things, and it's a nice environment. I believe they have a place to eat and I believe they also serve wine? It will be interesting to see The business after Covid restrictions lift, as I have only seen it during Covid/under lockdown.
Definitely recommend.

Ordered two apple pies about a week ahead of time. The owner acted like he was doing me a favor taking my order and my money. I get it. He's an 'artist' with a big ego-I'm fine with that as long as your talent can live up to the hype. The pies? Severely undercooked and practically raw. Brought them to a get together and the insides were similar to apple stew. If you enjoy arrogance and under performance, this is the place for you.

Wouldn't toast the bagel as the computer didn't have a price for it in manhour billing, so ate it cold out of the bag. They have hot and cold sandwiches in the $17.00 range. Pastries were good. Dog friendly patio with plenty of tables. They have Olympic ice cream which is some of the best around. They have a drive through for coffe and espresso

We went camping up there and had some breakfast. Food was absolutely delicious! 5 stars for food but the dude working there was not friendly at all. The next day on the way home we thought about stopping and get some stuff for the way home but we left because of the way he was talking to other customers.

Washington hidden gem! Their baked goods are GOOD and their turkey and cranberry sandwich is delicious They have the best local ice cream and also a delicious blueberry loaf that sells fast. The line is not bad at all. They open at 8:30 and the line was only about 7 people ahead of us. The owner is in charge of wine tasting and he's excellent and knowledgeable.

Went here today when we drove from Seattle to get our new pup groomed. We had three hours to wait and I was super excited to visit this bakery.
I ordered two cinnamon rolls, two chocolate croissants , a grande americano, and a sausage piroshky.
I loved the sausage but didn't expect there to be potato. They included a cranberry Orange loaf slice and omg that slice was so incredibly moist. I would totally get that again. I'm so glad they threw it in because I probably wouldn't have gotten something like that on my own. It wasn't too sweet but it was so moist and not too heavy

We have been to this bakery/deli in the past and it was great. Today after spending $50 for 2 sandwiches and 2 desserts I have to say we will never go here again. The sandwiches were horrible - gross lunch meat and bread. Even the oatmeal cookie was nasty. I couldn't even finish the sandwich or cookie. Steer clear of this place Go to Subway instead!

Confusing place: the food is really mediocre, which you might expect from an out-of-the way deli in rural Shelton, but it's also shockingly expensive, which you wouldn't expect. I'd be okay with medium-low quality baked goods that taste like they're made from Betty Crocker mixes if they were priced as such. They're not.
They have sandwiches that cost upward of $18, for example. For that price, you'd think you'd be getting a party sub, but no, it's just one generic sandwich. Nothing special, bread is bland and white, not even toasted. Deli meats that taste

Gorgeous little place! We love small town delis and really enjoyed the food and desserts. Everything tasted like it was made with love and with quality ingredients. All the baked goods were delicious and tasted homemade.
It was a gorgeous day so we sat outside, and were pleasantly surprised when a small dessert "on the house" was delivered to our table mid-lunch. Very kind gesture!
The only reason why I take off one star was because of the prices. They are very high! Everything was absolutely delicious besides my vegetarian avocado tomato and cucumber sandwich which was very very
