Our bakery has been operating from its original location at the corner of San Francisco and Bethel, across the street from Roosevelt Elementary School, for over thirty years. We continue our stewardship of SFSB with the addition of our second generation of owners and the ever present family of bakers, retail staff, and all of the food preparers necessary to keep the business humming.
We also have a stall at the Olympia Farmer's Market, a community gathering place where you can buy organic produce from hard working local farmers, shop for hand made crafts, find fruit and vegetables from all over the state, or eat at the collection of food carts. Sit and enjoy food you would find at the Bakery up on the hill, or take your treats to go.

Their pies are outstanding. Best cherry pie and pecan pie we have found in this area. We treated ourselves to cherry and pecan pie for thanksgiving and really gobbled them up. The ingredients are good, the crust perfect. We had a Costco pecan pie after this and regretted not making better pie choices.
Pick yourself up a delicious lox bagel and some rum balls while picking up the pies.

I love their in person storefront AND their Olympia Farmer's market stand. Their food, staff and quality of service is consistently excellent.
My top 5 favorites:
1) Their cheesy bread sticks! A tried and true favorite.
2) Their shortbread. Really, ALL of them, but I am partial to the birthday cake/rainbow one.
3) Their Norweigan Almond Tart/Crumble. Light yet full.
4) Their bagels! They sell great schmears too.
5) Once in a blue moon they have a seasonal pie flavor. Their peach pie lingers in my dreams.
Whether you see them at the market or at their storefront, you are guaranteed

I love coming here for a pastry and coffee and then to sit outside and reset. Today I stopped by for a bagel and a latte to go. The worker was SUPER NICE and I appreciate the customer service, but honestly I won't come here for a coffee again. My latte is so bad tasting, I don't know if it is the espresso or what but I can't even drink it, it tastes burnt. I also liked my bagel but it had SO much cream cheese, I probably scooped off 3 tablespoons worth of cream cheese which I guess I better than not having enough.
Anyway, I will probably be back but I'll bring my own coffee

I've been going to "the bakery" since the late 1980s/early 1990s. Having grown up two blocks down from its screen door - I have probably consumed every bread, bagel, and pastry type they have had to offer.
I fondly recall late night walks home from downtown, to stop in while a friend was baking the next days bread to open a fresh-hot-loaf for a bite, and take the rest home. Sorry Gene, but I did pay!
I remember the cache of the tie-dyed shirts walking the halls of school, pointing to some secret club of sophistication.
I say these things, because the bakery, for the neighborhood

Horrible service behind the counter!!!
the order process was interrupted by multiple phone calls without acknowledging by the lady with black hair behind the counter. I was totally invisible for at least 10 mins. She decided to check out after one call that not even confirm if the order was completed. She hided the screen behind the counter not showing the order or receipt and asking for money.
When I called back to ask to speak with manager. She refused to release her name. Refused to transfer. She stated "I'm in charge here. "

We went for our first time today, we got three pastries, a loaf of bread, two drinks, and a lox deluxe. The pastries and lox deluxe were absolutely delicious! We haven't tried the bread yet but are looking forward to it. The drinks were the only let down, they weren't bad but definitely not something we will get again. We do plan to go back for the food though, it was great!

I've lived on the Eastside of Olympia for almost 15 years and have been coming to San Fransisco bakery the whole time. I've known and loved it through many interations and it's always been great but lately I think it's the best it's ever been. The staff seem happy to be there and stoked on the great offerings they provide. Such a great experience every time . Goat is the G.O.A.T :) ha Everyone is really wonderful

This is one of my favorite bakeries! I find the building itself to be so charming, and a perfect place to be in the middle of a neighborhood. You can tell is made for the family community. I love their pastries, always flakey and buttery. I've had the cheese danish, the chocolate stuffed and the ham and Swiss stuffed one-all great! My favorite cookie is the cute little short bread rounds and my wife loves their bagels. No complaints!

I got a 12 oz peppermint mocha with oat milk today because they don't have almond milk, it was really good but I felt like the $6.50 price tag was a little steep for a 12oz. Guess that's what you pay for the atmosphere now days.
I will come back but I feel like they should decrease their alternative milk to $.50 like everyone else instead of .95.
This definitely won't be a daily trip but they do have good coffee and the sitting area outside is cute and inviting on a nice sunny day.

Quaint little long-running gem here that has had its ups & downs over the years (decades?) yet remains a staple in the East Olympia neighborhood. I myself have experienced this place in every form.
Freshly baked sweets, bagels with cream cheese flavors to die for and made-to-order sandwiches are what I generally get. Their walnut/olive cream cheese, garlic chive and pesto are my faves.
Sometimes just a small espresso and a cookie.
During the summer I enjoy sitting outside in their "secret garden" area. It's just close enough to the street to hear the nearby bass, yet tucked

Though there are nice people at this Bakery, who wait on you in organized lines, anything you buy is average or below average. That's since the 4th of July w/e. When they lost the pastry chef who did the best macaroons and rugela anywhere in the State. (Wish I was in receipt of where he/she went) I wonder if the owners are keeping close enough watch on what goes on in the bakery because they're quality is lagging. It's sad because it's always been a favorite but just keep in mind, several coffee houses in town (B&B) get their pastry from SFB. So if you're morning

We did not visit their storefront but purchased their baked goods at their stall in the Olympia Farmers Market. Delish! We enjoyed fresh Hot Cross Buns while wandering the market and took home a couple of their croissants to enjoy for dessert later that day. Their croissants are quite large and I had the Almond Croissant, the Hubs tried their Raspberry filled one. The Almond one was by far the winner and so dang delicious. The Raspberry one was just okay...the croissant itself was great, but there really wasn't much raspberry in it...more like a small stream of raspberry jam in a big
