My daughter Sailor attended last summer. I drove her up from South Florida. We signed her up for a 2 week session.
I was so impressed with the Facility when we dropped her off (give yourself a couple of hours for drop off) It's an absolutely beautiful property. All the counselors were so friendly and seemed really happy to be there. I was worried that she would have a hard time being left alone with no contact with us. I got a call 5 days into the session that she is begging to extend her camp stay for another 2 weeks. I was unable to extend her stay but we have already signed her up for a moth

Not really the safest camp. I've seen a couple of knucklehead protocols going on especially with the whole trapeze thing and ATVs. 16yos monitoring these activities is probably not the best thing, but yea, my kid did make it home alive.
Also, this last year my child came home and couldn't stop talking about the how "woke" this camp has become. Heard reports (first hand and from other parents) of a ton of shady stuff going on including "woke" social events and even some political indoctrination. Weird this is going on at a camp with kids 10 and younger. Can't kids be kids anymore?

Wow. This camp was miserable. It seemed to be out of a Dickens story. First, when my son called from the infirmary because he had a headache from dehydration, the nurse told me that during Covid many of their water fountains were turned off. They had no way of giving water to the kids during the day. Next, my son who was a vegetarian complained that there was not enough to eat. The camp called me and suggested I send food so he could eat. The camp advertises that there are 65 activities. Turns out most of those were closed for the pandemic and if the kids wanted to do something they had to wait

Awful communication policies
My 7 year old daughter is in a two weeks camp session at this time (2 days left). I have not heard from her during this time. During the initial conversation I was told no communication for 10 days. After 10 days no appointments available. On the day they were supposed to email, they had COVID test. So, no word from my child. No matter how good the camp may be, getting in touch should not be harder than in Alcatraz

My daughter attended Camp Lohikan for the first time these past 3 weeks. She felt safe, and had the time of her life. As a parent, I was so impressed with all of the safety measures, and the communication between myself and the camp. She wants to go back for longer next summer lol! Highly recommend.

Several years ago, my husband and I sent our 3 children (7, 11 and 14) to Lohikan. All three had absolutely horrible experiences. My younger son was extremely homesick. After the mandatory period of no contact with the parents so the kids could adjust, our younger son tried to call us. He was absolutely miserable due to the abusive behavior of the counselors. My son wanted to come home, and the counselors made fun of him. The staff refused to let him call us. He finally ended up using a pay phone at an Amusement park. He begged us to bring him home. We picked him up the next day. The head of the

I have been a camper, CIT, and counselor at Camp Lohikan and with every passing summer this place has become more and more my home. I have met people who have changed my life for the better and I couldn't be more thankful for my Lohikan family. The friendships and connections I've made at camp are invaluable, and I wouldn't trade my memories and experiences here for anything. Camp Lohikan has taught me who I am and who I want to be, and continues to make me a better counselor, teacher, and person every summer. This place is so much more than summer camp, it's a family for life.

My boys love Camp Lohikan! Their counselors and division director have been fabulous this summer. They have been very responsive to their needs and have been wonderful mentors. The boys LOVE getting to choose all their own activities each day, so they can spend as much time at an activity as they want. And the staff at each activity are professionals in their field. I am happy to say that Camp Lohikan is their home away from home, and while I miss them while they are gone, I am so happy knowing that they are having a great time. They've become much more confident and independent as well. Camp

I have had the privilege of calling Camp Lohikan my summer home for eight years as a staff member. One word comes to mind when I think of Lohikan and that is "family". The directors, head instructors, and counselors all play a part in creating this environment for the campers. Over the years I have seen junior campers turn into senior campers and develop lifelong friendships. The only bad thing about camp is that it only lasts the summer and goodbyes aren't easy!
Lohikan literally has something for every kid regardless of his or her interests. There is a wide variety of activities

Horrible camp ! lots of kids left during the two weeks. counselors lied to me about my daughters having fun. there was a girl in one bunk who was doing satanic rituals. one girl called another girl an n. the kids were allowed to bully my daughter. the camp held back letters so i did not realize the truth. the kids told if don't smile no pictures. a counselor called my daughter a c&** and when she reported it they made her apologize for making it up. how could she make it up as she had never heard the word before that british male counselor called her one. i am disgusted by this

Our son LOVED his 2 weeks at Camp Lohikan. He just returned Saturday and can't wait to go back next year. He's a middle schooler who went alone to sleepaway for the first time. He went alone and made tons of friends immediately. He said the activities were awesome and his counselors were great. He had kids from all over the country and world in his cabin and they all got along well. We are thrilled with this place and our son will definitely be returning next year. Thanks Camp Lohikan for helping make our son's summer amazing!

Been involved with Camp Lohikan for six years now. Wonderful camp. People just have to remember that the counselors don't raise the kids. Counselors have the kids for 2 to 8 weeks out of the whole year. The staff is well trained (most senior staff members are teachers) and knowing the specific counselors personally I would know that the previous issue brought out by social media is the last type of behavior that these counselors would encourage, not to mention most of our counselors are Jewish themselves. Most of what has been reviewed on this page is false and blown out of proportion. The

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE if you want them to be well taken care of and safe. The director is an absentee director and it is virtually impossible to get him or even a division leader on the phone when doing a simple check in on your child. Had a call scheduled with my child and was on hold for 45 minutes until they figured out she was at an intramural game at another camp. Spoke to a camp expert after the summer and they said they rep the camp but would NEVER recommend it. Too "loosey goosey" and I am surprised they never lost a kid".

First time camper just finished the two week session late July. I would say it was successful. Was it perfect? No, but you can't expect that. She had fun, got lucky with an amazing cabin full of super nice girls all going into 7th grade. No personality clashes whatsoever. Counselors were both fantastic though one of the CITs was not so great. A big plus for Lohikan is that for the 2 week sessions the kids are placed in a bunk only with other two-weekers. They all come in on the same page so I think any clique issues are minimized or eliminated. My impressions of the other girls were that they

Where to begin? Camp is incredible! I've never had so much fun and done some many new things! At camp Lohikan there is an opportunity to every kid. Whether they are artists, champion horse rider people whatever lol you name this camp has it.
My favorite thing that I got to try was the trapeze in the circus area! I felt so cool flying high above the net (with my safety cable of course :])
If you are looking for a place where you can meet life long friends and do incredible things this is the place! I made friends from Italy, France, Mexico, basically all of the world lol.
I can't wait

Camp Lohikan is the BEST camp in the poconos. I sent my two oldest sons this summer and it was an experience of a lifetime. From the administration to the staff we were given the royal treatment just like every other camper. My boys are 11 and 8 and had the time of their lives. My 11 year old was in the intermediates and loved the ability to choose what he wanted to do every day. He got high quality instruction in his favorite sports including personalized workout sessions to keep him in shape for the competitive sports he plays during the year. My 8 year old loved his cabin mates and his counselors

This is my son's 5th year at Lohikan - he loves it (as well as a bunch of his friends there who also return every year); the camp has given him confidence and taught new skills. We do send him with a bunch of snacks to eat and share with friends; from what I hear the food their is not "gourmet" but come on, this is summer camp!!! Plenty of activities to keep the campers busy!!

Visiting day at Camp Lohikan was fun. I went here as a kid so it's really weird to have one of my kids as a camper here. The camp is huge and has tons of activities. Lake and pool swimming, boats, jet skis, bungee, trampolines, tennis, baseball, basketball, circus, drama, arts & crafts, cooking, paint ball, etc. They had a barbecue of burgers, dogs and chicken which were all decent. It was hotter than hell but you can't control the weather. Camp was easy to get to and I know my child will be returning next year.
