General Veterinary Clinic is proud to serve Hannibal & the surrounding area for everything pet and livestock related. Our veterinary clinic is owned and operated by Dr. Philip Briscoe, who along with his associates and relief veterinarian have over fifty years combined experience. Our team is committed to educating our clients in how to keep your pets healthy year round, with good nutrition and exercise.
Dr. Briscoe grew up in New London, Missouri and attended Hannibal High School. He started working as summer help for Dr. Carson at our clinic in 1991. He went on to graduate with a degree in agriculture from Truman State University in 1999 and earned his doctorate from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004.

Best Veterinarians in and around town, hands down! Very knowledgeable and listens to the owner. Works with the client and discusses all options available. Provides emergency services, boarding, basic grooming, annual wellness, routine health checkups, blood work, and surgical procedures. Carries prescription pet food, an array of preventative care products and even locally sourced treats! Very clean, quality care, and can always get you in, in a timely manner.
