Dental disease is common in the dog and cat population. Routine care is recommended to monitor for early signs of periodontal disease. We provide routine dental prophylaxis, complete oral health exams, and minor oral surgery. Additionally, we can recommend appropriate dental preventative care. Signs of dental disease include halitosis (bad breath), bleeding from the gums, or discoloration of the teeth.
One of the most difficult tasks as a pet parent is having to say goodbye. We will work with you to keep your pet as comfortable as possible. We offer euthanasia and cremation services as well. Our team understands that the grieving process varies from family to family and we will do our best to support you during this unfortunate time.
Behavioral conditions are common in veterinary medicine. They can be stressful for pets and their families. If left untreated, behavioral conditions can worsen over time. Your veterinarian will help determine whether a medical problem exists or if there is a behavioral component. From there, your veterinarian will work with you and your family to create a multi-modal treatment plan.

I had to come here to Gilmer Road Animal Hospital tonhave one of my dogs euthanized. The staff and vet were very considerate, helpful, and understanding, as well as compassionate. At the most difficult time of being a pet owner, Gilmer Road Animal Hospital earned a 5 star review. I would have no problems with coming back here for vet services for my other dog. I can't really comment on anything else at this time because I only visited for this one service.

Stay away if u care about your pet, like other reviews say, don't get fooled by the fact that they are being nice to you, they don't know what they are doing. I did bring my cat to them suspecting ringworm..and they said is not,is nothing don't worry about it..and they did a vaccine and I asked if the cat is gonna feel bad after that, they said absolutely not..and after that vaccine my cat was really sick for about 2 weeks, wasn't eating wasn't doing anything..and I did bring him to another hospital to find out that he in fact he has ringworm.and they did give him antibioticsand vitamins and he is

Slightly better prices than others. But like many things in life— you get what you pay for. The vets are nice. Don’t let that fool you into thinking they know what they’re doing! It tricked me at first. After a half dozen appointments, I came to learn that they’re NOT educated beyond the scope of very MINOR health issues. When diagnosed with diabetes, the vet kept doing a search on his phone to answer my questions. I could’ve done that myself! I was given horrible advice. Luckily, I found the Feline Diabetes Message Board (a life saver). It’s sad and unacceptable that I didn’t learn

If I could leave zero stars I would. Please do not use this facility if you care about your pet at all. They are unprofessional, unresponsive and their medical recommendations are dangerous and negligent (at best). You will get a response quickly if you’re trying to make an appointment or make a payment. However, if you need help that isn’t going to make them money (even for serious issues)… Good luck getting a response.
The treatment recommendations they made nearly killed my cat. I was lucky enough to find a different vet soon enough to catch their mistakes.

Really great! Compassionate and caring staff and Dr. Brar. they got me in right away the day I called and squeezed in a procedure as well and had my dog home by 330pm. I really like this veterinarian. I wish i could take them with me when i go back home. I am from another state visiting family.
Really a wonderful experience in a very stressful time.

I really, really love this place. I especially like Dr. Thomas. You will notice that I did not give a 5 star rating. This is because sometimes (often), a promised phone call to let us know results/explanations is not made. I will sit by the phone for hours waiting for the call to know how my beloved Fur Friend is doing---and it never comes. Sometimes (often) you have to keep calling to leave messages that you're still waiting for the call. Maybe they need to hire another helper?? Other than that, I love this practice. They are so kind to my animals. Thank you, Dr. Thomas.
