Miss Persis Studio of Dance and Performing Arts has been a staple in downtown Arlington, Texas since it began in 1954. We teach kids, young adults, and not-so-young adults in a fun, safe learning environment. From traditional lessons in tap, jazz, and ballet to musical theatre, hip hop and lyrical, MPS has something for you.

Services
Miss Persis Studio began in 1954 in an old three-story house located near the First Methodist Church of Arlington and then moved to downtown Arlington on Main Street. Five years later, another move was made to the brand new Town North Shopping Center which became our home for some 40 odd years. In 2004, we relocated to Main Street again in historic downtown Arlington.
Persis Forster established Miss Persis Studio of Dance in 1954. A graduate of UT Austin with a BFA in Radio/TV, she has a varied background in dance and theatre which includes performing, directing, choreography and teaching in all levels of dance and musical theatre. She has lived in Arlington with her husband, Jerry, for over 57 years.
It is our purpose to maintain the highest standards of dance training for students of all ages and levels. The curriculum includes beginning to advanced training in ballet, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, tap, musical theatre (includes creative dramatics) and vocal & dance coaching. Our staff and teachers are highly professional and you may be assured that our classes are conducted and disciplined in a manner associated with proper dance education.

I grew up dancing here back in the 80s. I have so many wonderful memories. The fact that they are still shaping the lives of children through dance is a blessing to anyone who has the opportunity to experience it.
Looking back at my 8 plus years I attended classes at Miss Persis Studio were some of the best times of my life. Christmas time holds a special time to me as I reminisce singing all the songs and dances learned there.

If you live in the Arlington area your search for a great dance studio should begin and end here. Miss Persis has been the leading dance school in the mid-cities for over 60 years. My daughter started here 3 years ago when she was 3 and she has loved every minute of it. Her experience here has engendered a love of the fine arts, which thrills her mother and I, and we hope her passion only grows in the years to come.
