We are an authentic and traditional halau where students learn Hawaiian dance (hula), language (olelo), history (moolelo), arts (hana noeau), and handmade crafting (na mea hana lima) in a fun, educational setting! Everyone is welcome, whether Hawaiian or Hawaiian-at-Heart. All are encouraged to come learn about the beautiful and spiritual culture of the Hawaiian people.

The ancient Hawaiian history was oral, and chants were memorized and passed down. In the absence of a written language, this was the only available method of ensuring accuracy. Chants told the stories of creation, mythology, royalty, and other significant events and people. Hula Kahiko is the dance of old Hawai'i.
I am Kumu Hula Leilani Manulanikauikawekiuipihamekalokomaika'iikeaonei Birkmire from Pearl City, O'ahu. Mahalo for your interest in our halau. Through the guidance of Kumu Hula Keli'i Chang and my many years with Halau Ho'ola Ka Mana O Hawai'i, the mana (power) and kuleana (duty) to perpetuate the Hawaiian culture was passed on to me in a glorious 'uniki (graduation) ceremony in 2008.
