Originally founded in 1998 as The Clothing Outlet, its name was changed to Zia Clothing Outlet by its second owner, who named it for her late aunt whose dream was to open a women's boutique (Zia means aunt in Italian!). The staff is not welcoming - no business sense. I agree with other reviewers that they pay attention to only their "regulars." I stopped in yesterday and as I strolled through the store, they never said hello or acknowledged me in any way at all. In this difficult time I look to support small businesses, but choose not to support anyone who lacks common courtesy and appears elitist. The clothes aren't particularly special.

Don't buy unless you're absolutely 100% sure that you are going to keep what you purchased! I bought a few pieces totalling well over $600 that looked fine in-store (although the dressing rooms are itty-bitty and it's VERY difficult to get a really good look!), but when I got home and looked in MY mirror, they looked horrific! When I was trying a pair of shoes on and wasn't quite sure whether to purchase them or not, Chloe and I discussed that if the shoes did not work for me I could just bring them back (NOT insinuating I would get a store credit!). I have never loved a clothing store the way I love Zia. I almost always find something that I really love and as others say, the clothes I wear that get compliments are always from Zia. They are often unique styles or beautiful colors and materials. My 32 year old daughter and I both find styles we like there.
The prices are very reasonable, I think, for the special clothes that they have. I am not a person who usually shops in expensive boutiques either. Give the store a try. I think you'll agree that Zia is amazing.

I visited this place for the first time today, even though I'd been wanted to check it out for about 7 years now (yes, that long)!
I regret letting that much time go by, because the clothes are so unique and curated so well... you'll never find pieces like these elsewhere!
The shop owner, Karen, and her shop assistant Chloe were helpful. Chloe selected some items for me without being pushy. I found a lot of cute pieces (with varying levels of success after trying them on), and one item was so amazing I had to buy it.
The prices are a range. I tried on 2 cute tanks and they were $25

This place has so many different sizes, fashion trends and items that are not seen everywhere. It is a sample boutique (no, it does not mean size 0 or 4 anymore). Lots of colors and also solids. The merchandise is constantly changing and much love goes into this store. They have wonderful events and always the right gift for someone. I generally by gifts here for women in my life. Lots of choices. Most of the things that I have purchased become staples in my wardrobe. Easy parking! Wahoooooooo!

Love this store. Favorite place to shop for unusual clothes at reasonable prices because they are all samples. Whenever I wear something that strangers comment on, it comes from Zia's. If you don't find something the first time, come back. Entire stock rotates quickly. Lots of fun to stop & chat or get advice from owner, Karen, or occasional assistant, Chloe. Entertaining parties with a theme in the evening about once a month too.

The clothes themselves are great. Very unique and always something new to look at. For a girl with a little extra around the middle, there are an abundance of tunics and flowy tops which are very flattering. I get so many compliments on the clothes I buy here!

What a wonderful way to spend the afternoon and fill your wardrobe with unique pieces. Zia Clothing Outlet is really a find and a friendly little nook. I went in expecting the clothes to be a lot more affordable that what they really are. I was really disappointed in the hefty prices they had on certain things. I also really wish there were more sizes in things; not everyone is a size small! Have to say...they definitely lost some business due to that aspect.
Overall, I had a good *experience there: the owner was extremely nice and very attentive. She definitely catered to my style and offered things in my price range and style when one item didn't work out for me.

Wow - what a friendly place to shop. It's all about the experience sometimes. And I really appreciate people who give an honest opinion when you try something on. I bought 2 cute tops there. I will be going back. The parking isn't that good but I don't mind a quick walk. There's a lot over next to Starbucks. I love unique stuff which is hard to find at good prices - this lady knows her stuff!

I adore this place, half of my clothes come from there. Karen, the owner, now remembers me so that when I come in says "I just got some things you'll like." Believe me, that doesn't happen at Filene's Basement. I even bought *two* coats at once a few seasons back, something I have never done *in my life*, because together they cost less than I would have paid for one. And I wear them constantly.

A fun little snazzy boutique very unexpectedly located next to the Ben Franklin Five and Dime. They have great accessories especially the jewelry, scarves and lingerie. They carry predominately sample clothing which comes mostly in sizes under size 6 or small so it is not the place for everyone to find clothes. The clothes are arty and unusual but not expensive compared to other stores that carry unique clothes. The lady who owns this store, is a doll. What a nice store in the little town of Belmont. I'd say there are some very classy, eclectic, fun, sassy, earthy, beachy, casual, happy, cool, calm, collected things at Zia.

It's a small boutique store that reminds me of the shops I liked in Montreal. I do agree that a good amount of the clothing caters more towards the middle age group (specifically the tops) but I found a gorgeous dress and skirt here.
I will absolutely keep popping in to see what sort of neat stuff they have, and I would love to talk to the owner too.
I really like how Watertown/Belmont has more personality than you'd think
