It is important to know where you stand with your hearing as it may affect your overall health since hearing loss can happen at any age and can play a role in other health issues. With over 33 million Americans suffering from hearing loss, medical professionals believe it is important to get a baseline screening, followed by an annual evaluation after the age of 50.
Unfortunately, many people put off getting a hearing test until they start to notice an obvious change in their hearing. Sadly, just getting a simple hearing test may have been delayed for years because they may think their hearing issue isn't "that bad yet." Many people don't realize that our ears function for us to hear, but understanding happens in our brain.

Your licensed hearing specialist will take the time to thoroughly explain the results of your hearing test and the video ear scan (also called a video otoscope exam) which is performed prior to the actual hearing test.Reviewing the results of the video ear scan will show if excessive wax is blocking sound from coming in and causing your hearing difficulties.

Is it wax? Checking for excessive wax or other physical medical conditions is the first step to a hearing test. This is done by using an otoscope to physically look inside your ear canal. At this point, you will be able to see inside your ear, on a large TV screen, as the hearing specialist is looking as well.

Beltone hearing practitioner, John, provided excellent service, including a very thorough check up with clear, detailed explanation of the results. He cleaned and replaced parts to my hearing aid and patiently showed me how to use the equipment. All of this was free. He did not push me to buy new equipment. He is very customer service oriented and a really nice guy!

John Bermudez is a great Hearing Consultant. Right from the outset he impressed me with his empathy, listening ability and professionalism. He has great compassion for the hearing disabled, and speaks very clearly in a tone of voice that is ideally suited for those with the most common forms of hearing loss (i.e. loss of higher frequency sound wave discernment). He very clearly enunciated his words, and did a very thorough examination of both my ears. Using state of the art audiology testing he was able to exactly determine the root causes of my hearing loss, and custom design a hearing solution
