We understand that every family is unique and has different influences such as religious and cultural traditions, cost concerns and personal preferences to consider when planning funeral services. During the arrangement process you will make some important decisions that are meaningful for you and your family.
Here at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, we offer services to help you with the loss of your beloved pet. All pets entrusted to us will be treated with the consideration and respect they deserve. Our experienced staff will be happy to help you and your pet in the most compassionate and courteous way. We offer cremation services for all types of pets.
In the days, weeks and months following the service, people continue to need others to lean on for understanding, encouragement and guidance. For that reason, many local and national support groups have formed. These groups provide a common place and a comforting environment for expressing emotions through each phase of the grieving process.
Prearrangements provide a record of your wishes that will be accessible to surviving family members. Relieves surviving family members of some of the emotional burdens associated with making funeral arrangement decisions. Allows for a less stressful environment, without time constraints, to make important decisions.

When our dog passed unexpectedly, we were emotionally distraught. We are 'young' and didn't have much experience with funeral homes. Dave allowed us to visit on a weekend at our convenience; at a time when we were ready to deliver our pup. Dave was so compassionate and gave us our time to say goodbye. We had already decided to have our dog cremated so Dave took care of everything and gave us urn options to take home to review; there was no pressure for us to decide quickly, Dave made himself available when we were ready. The whole process was peaceful for us. I highly recommend Smith-Miner Funeral

Planning a funeral is a highly emotional undertaking - especially when the loss is unexpected.

My mother passed away suddenly, but although my family was overwhelmed by the circumstances, the staff at Smith-Miner was gracious, patient, and accommodating. They ensured every need of ours was met, coordinating almost every detail from the visitation at the funeral home, to the funeral service at our church in Midland, to the transportation of the casket to Mom's cemetery in Alabama.

Every detail was carried out to the very highest standards, and Bruce, Dave, and the rest of the Smith-Miner

Dave and his staff are compassionate and caring throughout the whole journey of making plans for the loss of a loved one. I have had Dave Smith's knowledge and help when my husband and I lost our daughter and just recently when my husband passed. I would be remiss to use anyone else and have recommended them highly to family and friends.
