Direct primary care is the straightforward relationship between you and your doctor, just like how it used to be. In the old days, general practitioners were the doctors you went to with all your basic health concerns. And in the old days, they were there for you, provided most of your care, screening and preventive services, and generally worked with you in a symbiotic relationship to keep you well and treat what ailed you.
You pick your clinician (who is supported by our stellar team), then we step up to meet all of your your primary care needs. We negotiate for affordable lab tests and radiology studies - or you can use your insurance. KCDPC is so convenient! The doctors and staff are so friendly and they make you feel like they actually care about you as a person.

Services
Nohemi Alvarez-Landa, NP-C (pronounced no-AMY) brings expertise in family medicine to KCDPC with a particular focus on chronic disease management, helping patients identify habits contributing to illness and strategizing with patients to modify those behaviors. She earned her BSN in 2008 from Truman State University and then worked in various specialties: ICU, step-down unit, pediatrics and travel nursing.
Unlimited number of email, phone, telemedicine/video or in-person visits with your clinician. Meeting you where you are, including home visits or visiting you at work (at an additional cost). Wellness and preventive medicine, including cancer screening, smoking cessation, and developing healthy habits.
Our FAQ is separated into 4 categories. Great question, glad you asked. It's primary care - just like any primary care - but we've changed the payment model. Instead of billing an insurance company (and letting them get involved with what you can and can't do with your health), we just work for you and charge you a flat, monthly fee for our services.
Providing a direct primary care membership for your employees empowers them to take control of their health without the mandates, networks, and cost involved with providing health insurance. Moreover, access to a primary care doctor allows you, the employer, to affordably cultivate a healthy, productive workforce through on-site visits, flu shot initiatives, and wellness programming.
Reserved, free parking for KCDPC members is available in the lot located at the Northwest corner of 43rd Avenue and Cambridge Street. You know you're in the right spot when you see the Commerce Bank ATM. Kansas City Direct Primary Care provides superior health care and wellness via a direct relationship between the patient and physician paid for with a transparent, monthly fee and enhanced by clear, frequent communication.

My family of 4 have been patients at KCDPC for two years. We are always well cared for whether I call in for reminders on best practices for my 7mo’s upper respiratory infection or when I need a quick appointment b/c my 5yo is favoring his wrist after a scooter fall. The nursing staff is always warm and friendly over the phone and in person. Conversations and appointments never feel rushed. In the last month or so we’ve had appointments with Nohemi, NP, and have felt just as well cared for in those appointments as we have with Dr. Edwards. I love all the above and that KCDPC is always open

This place doesn’t have a Doctor in the clinic most of the time. I specifically asked to pay for a Dr. visit- A Nurse Practitioner shows up and says they don’t have a Dr. there but she could do everything a Dr. can. And if she can’t she could call the Dr. if she had any questions. I like NP’s.they are sometimes better than Dr.s, but they should display that a NP is going to see you most of the time not a Dr. Plus the Dr. that was in the Clinic` is now on maternity leave. I’m happy for her, but they should have another Dr. fill in until she returns.

Dr. Edwards is professional and extremely talented. I have been in for a minor procedure, as well as discussing future healthcare goals and getting a series of bloodwork panels done, and Doc has made sure i understand them and how they affect me without being condescending. This is indicative of her overall great bedside manner, making even nervous patients (like me) feel at ease.
Additionally, the business model is great here. If you want to have cheap, high quality medical care that is personal, you need to support this practice or one like it. I will be a patient here as long as i live in KC

My Doc. Dr. Allison Edwards is the coolest most capable doctor I know. When my kids are sick she's available and always makes them feel better. Also she's available when I need 7 sutures in my shin to close up a wound. And she knocked it out in less than an hour. Back to work . Forever grateful forever my doctor. Thank you very much

I have received excellent, compasionate care from all members of staff at the Kansas City Direct Primary Care. Dr. Edwards is genuinely interested in what I have to say, addresses my concerns and questions head-on, and gives straightforward pricing, medical testing, and advice. At KCDPC it is easy to get an appointment or a phone call from a doctor I trust.
On the lab work side, Laurin Myers is one of the most skillful phlebotomist I've ever come across. If I have to have blood drawn or immunizations (which is never my idea of a fun day), Laurin makes it painless, quick, and simple.

As a mother of multiple children, it is important for me to have a doctor that is accessible for those unexpected acute illnesses or injuries. Its easy to make an appointments but those acute urgent matters are what’s the deal breaker for me. Dr. Edwards or her colleagues has been available in a timely manner every time I’ve had an issue like that. Hopefully one day she can grow to expand and cover all 7 days/week.

Dr. Edwards has been my primary doctor for about a year and a half. She also sees my kids even though they have insurance. She’s very easy to get a hold of and returns calls quickly to avoid unnecessary trips to the ER. I refer people to her all the time...although I hate to only because I’m selfish and don’t want her to ever get too busy for me. 😀

Doctor Edwards is creating a new movement in healthcare with KCDPC. Outstanding care, transparency, affordability and prompt treatment! The membership covers about 95% of typical medical care while taking a preventive approach to treating disease and illness. Highly recommend, especially if you are looking for a sustainable solution to the future of healthcare.

Who knew doctor's visits could be so easy? Dr Allison Edwards has completely changed my expectations for primary care. Visits can be scheduled with a quick phone call or email (often same-day visits), the rates for services and medications are an incredible value, and the entire staff at KCDPC is friendly, polite and professional. 10/10, would absolutely recommend.
