Dr. Nelson's passion for providing the best care while utilizing the latest techniques and medical advances led him to founding the Shoulder and Orthopedic Institute. Dr. Nelson is a fellowship-trained shoulder specialist, who also practices general orthopedics. Dr. Nelson can perform complex procedures including total shoulder replacements, reverse total shoulder replacements and rotator cuff and labral repairs.
At the Shoulder & Orthopedic Institute we are focused on treating and repairing orthopedic injuries. Dr. Nelson and his team use the latest techniques, including robot-assisted surgery to provide the best results with the smallest incisions possible. While Dr. Nelson specializes in the shoulder, he treats patients for a wide variety of orthopedic issues including complete knee care.
Dr. Ryan Nelson is an orthopedic doctor and surgeon who grew up in Jenks, Oklahoma. A graduate of Kansas City University University of Medicine & Biosciences, Dr. Nelson has become one of the only surgeons in Oklahoma to have received fellowship training in shoulder and elbow surgery from the American Shoulder & Elbow Surgeons Association.
Madison "Maddy" Williams is a Physician's Assistant and valuable member of the team at the Shoulder & Orthopedic Institute in Oklahoma City. She assists Dr. Nelson in all aspects of treatment from diagnosis to surgery and recovery. There is a good chance you will see Maddy in the clinic and at the hospital if your treatment requires surgery.

All patients should complete this packet before their first visit. Do not take any medications the morning of your surgery, unless it is your normal dose of blood pressure medication.
