Don and Marcy operated the business together for several years being joined in 1975 by their son Ken and later by their other sons Rick and Brad. Don and Marcy retired in the 1980's and left Ken, Rick and Brad to run the business. Ken left the business to pursue other interests in 1999.

Being involved in an auto accident can be very traumatic experience. Afterward, you are left to up the pieces and assigned the chore of the "claims process". This might be something you are completely unfamiliar with; the prospect of dealing with multiple auto insurance companies and auto body shops can seem a bit intimidating.
When the great state of Texas required you to carry Liability Insurance on your vehicle, you were given certain legal rights. These rights are called: Motorist Bill of Rights. You have the right to choose the facility where your vehicle gets repaired. You do not have to take your car to the shop with the cheapest estimate or one picked by the insurance company.
Your car is the second-largest investment you are likely to make. Preserve its value and your safety by having it repaired professionally. If you've had the misfortune of having an accident, you don't want to leave your vehicle in the hands of just any "body man". If you're shopping for a quality collision repair center, you don't need to be a collision repair expert to know what to look for.
Where do I get a claim number? Claim numbers are issued by your insurance company at the time you report your accident. Just jot it down and bring it in with you when you come in to begin the repair process, we will do the rest. Will the parts be ordered before I drop off my vehicle for repair? Absolutely.

Don's Paint & Body Shop randomly turned into some other company that felt very corporate with no notice or warning. I drove all the way to downtown to get a quote for a half a mirror cover. I expected it to be around $50, but the quote was over a $100. Going to miss Don's so much and will have to find another car repair shop.

Absolutely phenomenal service! We brought our car to Don's for hail damage repair after receiving a quote from another garage who had indicated that the repair would take 40+ days. Don's completed the job in two weeks, and even held onto our car for us while we were out of the country and were unable to pick it up. When we did pick up our car, they had cleaned the car's exterior AND interior, which we didn't expect at all. Also, they were (and continue to be, since it has yet to be delivered) understanding when our insurance was slow to send the payment check.

I brought my car in last week due to a hit and run, and was given a very reasonable quote and was told my car would be ready yesterday. As of yesterday morning, I hadn’t heard any update so I called to be informed that management/ownership switched. Not only had my car been untouched and unfixed (it had been sitting untouched at the shop for an entire week), but the new owners informed me that the cost would now be x5 as much as the original quote. As a struggling college student, this was extremely disheartening and unrealistic for me. I rely on my car for school and work, and just not having

I’ve had work done at Don’s several times, and each time I’m more and more impressed with their work. Their willingness to listen to customer concerns and their openness on the repair process is exactly what’s needed for what is normally such a stressful experience for most people. I’m incredibly picky with my car, and have not found flaws in any of my repairs with them.

This was by far the best service I’ve ever experienced relating to my vehicle. I brought my car in a little after 4pm for a missing exterior door handle, and they were able to get the necessary parts the very next morning (9am) and had it replaced in no time. I was in and out in under 20 minutes! Every person that works here is very kind, caring, and knowledgeable. The cost was also extremely fair; $30 less than what they had estimated it to be, and their estimation was already very reasonable! As long as I am in Austin, Don’s will forever be my go-to repair shop for any future car troubles

After getting into a bit of a fender bender the back of my mini cooper was completely smashed. The crew at Don's Paint & Body Shop could not have been nicer and they did a fantastic job in a timely fashion. My car looks even better than it did to begin with . It was my first accident and they made the process as seamless as possible. I am extremely grateful to to the team.

I chose this shop because it is conveniently located downtown. I got in a fender bender and called to get a quote, they we able to get me in the same day. The man that looked at my vehicle was able to pop my side panel back in place for me right there. No charge, no wait, no scams. If I ever need any major work done I will be going to them!

My experience at Don's Paint & Body Shop was excellent! My Toyota Sequoia needed some relatively minor corrections. The job was completed in a few days (I was in no hurry), and the vehicle, despite being 6 years old, appears brand new. I'll recommend Don's Paint & Body Shop to anyone needing body work.

I just picked up my car this week from Don's. They did an incredible job and were super fast. Rick worked with my insurance estimate to get OE parts (important!) and they even went the extra mile to ensure my paint matched the paintjob. Sounds funny, but they not only took a code for the color but also matched with some fine tuning. It turned out perfect! On top of that, I brought them a dirty car and they gave it back with a fresh wash job! 5 stars.

I was blindsided by a rogue deer. The fixed my truck like new, and pointed out some issues not noticed during the initial estimate (third party). Easy to work with and friendly too. thanks so much for your help.
**Update** Was hit by a distracted driver. Once again took the vehicle to Don's and they did a fantastic job. They may not be the fastest but quality work takes time. If you are ever in an accident consider Don's they will treat you right.
