This place is old school so you know it’s good. They’ve been in business for forever. I called to get a tune up for my Janome Memory Craft 6500 and they were able to take my machine and get it back to me within two weeks and faster than the promised timeframe. They retimed, balanced the tension, and cleaned my machine. It does seem a little strange because they have you meet someone in their parking lot to pick up your sewing machine in the trunk of their car to bring to their technician, but they did a great job and I would go back again. $125 for the entire tune up.

Terrible business, I dropped off a machine to be repaired, never got a call for it. I keep trying to call about it and they don't have any info, it was dropped off and some dude just picked it up from a van. It was essentially stolen, they have a "no call in 30 days and we throw it away" policy, but we never got any news about what was going on.

Very sketchy business practices. Had to meet the owners daughter in the parking lot of their run down location on State St., where she then put my machines in her car to remove to a different location. They did an OK repair after having to take one of my two machines in twice to get the problem solved, but seemed overpriced. You just need to know they repair your machine at their home and the owner/repairman is in his 90's and the work is done at his home. It took three weeks to get my machines back, and they never did call me when they were done. Had to call them.

Place looks like a dump. Web site said open but no way to get in. I called they said they were remodeling. They need to do more than just remodel.

I love this shop and the old school vibe. The owner may seem a bit gruff, but the dude knows what he is doing better than anyone in this entire valley. Stepping into his shop is taking a step back in time. He and his shop are a treasure and you will be lucky to have his help with your machine.

The place looks very sketchy, to say the least. But it is open and in business and once inside it was like a step into the past. No computers, stuff everywhere, everything somewhat dusty. I had inherited a 35+ year old Kenmore sewing machine and something seemed to be wrong. He gave me an estimate and fixed the machine within a week and the price was slightly below the estimate, about 80 dollars. He also told me to hang on to the machine because it is all metal and they don't make them like that any more. Machine works great. I'll be back for regular maintenance.

To begin with, the shop seems super sketchy - the small parking area is gravel, the windows have bars on them, and its on the somewhat sketchy part of State St. - I thought it must have gone out of business the first time I stopped by. However, I decided to call to see if the store was still open or not, and the older gentleman picked up and said "Salt Lake Sewing." So I told him that I needed my machine to be checked over, cleaned, a power cord and a foot control for my sewing machine. He told me to bring it in to get a quote etc. So I went back.
